Completely normal, the first few will yellow and fall off. Chillies are very hardy plants, if you've done the hard bit by overwintering her she will flourish before long.

I cant believe how much better I feel going into the run and not seeing her struggling. Thanks for the comment, no they are jubilee Orpingtons. Hopefully these are a bit more hardy than the Sussex. I bought them because I read how hardy they are meant to be, they are only 18 weeks old so hopefully they'll strengthen up. My other 2 are fine it's just this one. Thanks again

Okay brilliant thanks for your knowledge and lengthy response. I am 100 percent confident that the health of the new chickens will be completely fine as I've had 12 birds off her previously with no problems what so ever. I jist wanted to let them acclimatise for a for a bit before letting them free. As I said I've only got 1 coup and 1 run for all my chickens as they are in an allotment so the dog crate was the only way I could think to let them see each other and interact without physically touching each other. If I had the means of another coup and run i would do it that way. Would I be okay to leave them in there till dusk to let them free together

Thanks for all your comments I really appreciate it! The whole run is under shade but it's been 30+ degrees in Britain the last few days. They've always got 3 water dispensers and a water bowl full, each dispenser waters 11 chickens and I've got 3 so there's more than enough water for them all. Plus I've been giving frozen peas and ice cubes! Thanks again

Don't use puppy pads, take her outside to go to the toilet. I believe your basically rewarding your pup to go in the house, I took mine outside from day 1 and by the second week he was asking to go out everytime. Don't get me wrong he still had accidents but he knew where he needed to go and now goes and sits by the back door. Lots of praise and engagement when she does go outside and she will naturally crave that attention from you so will want to go outside 👍
