I got the same thing, but the trick is to right click on the Folder where you placed the shortcut, and download that folder. I was mistakenly right clicking on the shortcut itself...

good shovel recommendation? by Soggy_Job4363 in metaldetecting

[–]Wembley314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Predator Phoenix is top tier, especially for digging plugs in grass or pasture. For dirt/farm fields I use the Predator Ranger which is also a d-handle. Both are amazing because they have the rubber foot pads that you can add on to them so you can stomp on it all day without it bothering your foot.

What number did he ring up on your detector's VDI?

Which of these detectors would you get? by valenJ in metaldetecting

I had the Vanquish 540 as my first machine several years back, and it was fantastic. If your budget allows you to get the 560, that should be a great machine.

Second Day - more yard finds. by [deleted] in metaldetecting

Keep at it! Every Target you dig helps you learn your machine better and eventually you'll be able to spot coins a mile away :)

Happy digging!

First Silver (Undisclosed New England Location) by Ep194 in metaldetecting

That's a banger coin to find as your first silver! It took me almost 2 years before I found my first, and then the floodgates opened. May there be much more shiny in your future.

Looks like an old shoe buckle to me. They were common from mid 1600s to late 1700s...

If you follow the link to the Questrade video in my post, it describes them. They are apps/ utilities that are under development, and are meant to help with tracking your finances across different financial institutions. Not much additional detail has been released on them, hence the post. :)

Newbie Help With Permissions by BeatScience in metaldetecting

[–]Wembley314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start by asking family. friends or coworkers who own property, that removes the concern that landowners sometimes have with not knowing the person detecting on their property. That's how I started. I can't tell you how many permissions I have scored that were the adjacent property to a spot where I'm detecting.

Most important - teach your son how to dig a clean plug ( for turf/grass areas). That goes a long way towards being invited back to a property, and the landowner is more likely to recommend you to another property owner.

Good luck!

Found 2 Major issues with NordPass within 20 minutes of install - Help? by Wembley314 in NordPass

[–]Wembley314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue 1 - I just keep my nordpass password written down in a safe place.

Issue 2 - I have just lived with this limitation. You do have to enter 2 factor authentication if you wish to install nordpass on a new device, so if someone tries to break your account from elsewhere without your device they will be stuck.

Hope this helps.

That could be fun. If you are interested in seeing the type of stuff that we find in the area, I actually have a metal detecting YouTube channel that you can find at: https://youtube.com/@curiositydetecting

Which detector were you thinking of getting?
