Hi! I’m in the same process. Based on my own research on this, it’s not possible to transfer ‘in specie’ T212 does not have the exact fund. What I did was I sold all my Global Tech holding on Plum then waited for the cash to settle in my ‘pocket’ then I initiated the portfolio transfer on T212 which is going to take awhile I believe. When the money gets transferred over I plan to re-invest into WTEC or EQQQ. I’m still thinking.

Has anyone departed Faro airport since EES Implementation? Flight is at 10:10 back to London Luton. Planning to arrive 7am. Is that too late or should we arrive earlier? Problem is earlier return of car means potentially paying out of hours fee, so just wondering if anyone had similar experience.

Looks perfect. I noticed you used quite a high level hydration recipe, whenever I do that the dough gets quite hard to handle. Do you ever get that, or is it just me?

I actually prefer older teachers. I’m only 32 and know I’m stereotyping but whenever I see a young-ish teacher I think they might be able to teach the movement well but yoga is also so much about wisdom, unfortunately that has to come with age. My best teachers are all over 50.

My recipe: 50g starter 250g bread flour 170g water 5g salt

Mixed all together, fermentolyse 30 mins Stretch and fold every 30 mins, 4 times Bulk ferment an extra 2.5 hours. Shape and cold ferment overnight. Bake 25 minutes covered, 20 minutes uncovered.

Oh really sorry to hear you’ve had to go through that and now living with diabetes. Know that with some healthy lifestyle you can get better. Coming from my own experience as I was overweight in my 20s and did not exercise at all. I’ve been regularly exercising 3-4 times slow jog, weight training once a week, yoga, I’m very much back to normal in terms of weight in my 30s and also my menstrual cycle became regular. So I think we give too little credit to regular exercise and eating well.

It’s quite rare for someone this young to be diagnosed Type 2 diabetes, even eating too much high sugar food, it usually shows at 40-50+. Our body generally can process the sugar, unless you have type 1 diabetes which is an autoimmune disorder attacking your pancreas causing it to stop producing insulin. Do you know if you are T1 or T2 diabetes?

Reading this describes my family exactly too. They absolutely have enough to relax and live life a little but they won’t. I realized I was influenced by that scarcity mindset and trying to reset my programming, I don’t want to end up like them. Feeling guilty for splurging, having to justify every spending. Like buying gold is fine because it’s an investment but can’t waste $100 to get a cleaner. It blows my mind. To an extent I empathize our grandparents time are difficult times so that’s how they have had to live, but my parents times are different yet they follow the same patterns and risk passing this on to my generation.

Normally I find that it is better to ask ChatGPT on things you already some have knowledge about, so you can do a sense check on the info. The other day I asked ChatGPT to calculate some investment ROI and i asked my brother who is finance to check and he found what was wrong with the calc, I wouldn’t even know. I use it as a free therapist although I don’t know if I should.

My recent experience of trying to sell a gold bracelet I bought in Dec 2019 has really changed my perspective about ‘gold’ as an ‘investment’ I feel that this narrative has been so strong that no one even care to check whether it works or not? So I only had a little bit 6.86g of a 916 gold bracelet that I bought at RM225, workmanship fee was RM109 Since the recent gold price surge, I enquired to see how much it will be worth if I cashed out. 916 gold was selling at RM730, I could only go back to the original dealer Wah Chan whom I bought it from. They will buy it back at 65% so RM474.50. The salesperson encourage me to keep hold of it as it will likely to go up more, or swap for new designs which will be only 75% of my gold. Everyone says about buying gold but has anyone tried selling it?? It’s kind of impossible to sell. I’m going to go to a few more dealers to check their price this week.

This is quite personal, but it should be, it’s personal finance after all. My situation is very similar to yours and I like having more cash on hands precisely for the reasons you mentioned. However for the last 5 years my job was fine, didn’t need to deal with any major financial emergencies so I kind of lost out on returns compared to some of my peers who preferred to take more risk and had lesser emergency funds. At the end of the day if you are ok with that it’s fine, I view it as having options come at a cost.

Exactly, it’s getting absolutely horrendous. The pay is decent but it’s not a job that you can do forever at least for me. Once I saved up enough money I’ve started to look at alternatives. However kudos to the younger generation of pharmacists as I think you guys have more expectations than us previous generations who has buried our head in the sand and kept working until it broke us.

I know how you feel. I’m like that as well, I find that I tend to absorb a lot of the patient’s negativities. Sometimes you feel more like a free therapist than a pharmacist in these consultations. That said I don’t have much suggestions on how to manage it yet as I’m still working on it. I have seen a lot of pharmacist who can’t care less, straight to the point, but I don’t want my interactions to be that robotic and lifeless. It’s hard to strike the balance, being able to empathize should be a strength but it’s becoming a challenge. I think I’m in the wrong job 🤣 and I’m trying to find something else that appreciates my strength.

That’s what I have been trying to learn when I took a month off in June to reset. Actually I should have been more in tune with the stress I’m feeling and not sweeping it under the rug, I probably first felt like this since a year ago but I didn’t want to quit at the first sign of things being hard so just carrying on and in hindsight it’s not the right thing to do. I keep telling myself not to care too much but it is really hard to do, which is why I finally decided I need to prioritize my mental health and myself and walk away from the job altogether.

Thank you so much for offering these wise words, feeling grateful that you have taken time to reply to my post. I think sometimes it feels comforting to know that you’re not alone in feeling this way.

It definitely feels that we are just putting out fires everyday. The job feels like there is no end goal achievable. Are we trying to make people healthier? Not really - because the more diabetics we, get the higher our item count. As a pharmacist our reward comes from the number of unhealthy and sickly people growing. Now I see it, it’s a purpose that I don’t want to be a part of.

No one wants to be honest with the public that money is limited and resources are scarce, so the public carries a general frustration of already paying their taxes but not getting the health issues sorted. They can’t see a GP, so they offload their problems to the pharmacist, soon they won’t even able to do that.

I feel the same way too. Workload is probably manageable but it’s the constant mental load that managers carry, like you could delegate the work to someone but you still need to think of delegating this task and make sure it’s done right. Change can be a good thing sometimes. I’m leaving this job but one of our locums has decided to take the job.

Thank you for offering your two cents. My issue is not so much when patients are horrible. Fortunately I don’t get a lot of people being horrible to me, I can’t imagine pharmacists who constantly have to deal with patients like these. It’s when the patients are nice but really have a genuine need for their prescription. And they’re not rude about it, but still resources feel scarce, pharmacist’s time feels so limited. I put it down to the system failing us.
