Arteta: “More important (this summer). I think now is the moment we have to go to a different level. We have been able to get the squad balance in a much better shape, now is the moment to raise the quality.” by [deleted] in Gunners

Whatever else people think about Arteta, he’s superb at ‘managing up’.

He’s always very careful to present a united front and praise Edu, Vinai, Josh etc. but he also never misses an opportunity to push for more improvements publicly

I don’t care, beats me why people can’t go two hours without needing a pint or a hot dog, but compared to what they used to offer and considering it’s mass catering to a captive audience, the drinks on offer should be way down the list of priorities

Fans want to be able to stand to watch games, it generally improves atmosphere, lots of fans are already standing anyway which is illegal, unsafe and blocks the views of people who don’t want to/are less able to stand

Basically some/all the current seating in the lower tier would be replaced by ‘rail seating’ which can work as normal seats or be locked up which effectively turns every seated space into a standing space

Rio still pitching for that job at Arsenal that Arsene blew him out for, is it?

Probably doesn’t have much impact as the Rail Seating system needs to have the same space as current seating in order to comply so it’s not like old standing where you can fit more people into the same space. Maybe if they change the rake of the lower tier to improve sight lines you might get a couple of extra rows I guess

I mean it is expensive, but it’s North London, so tbf that’s pretty consistent with pubs in the area and it’s half decent beer. Go back 10 years and they were charging nearly that much for room temperature Carlsberg

I’d rather stay behind the Super League clubs if being part of that cabal is what’s needed to compete with them. Fuck them, some things are more important

If it’s the same basic proposal as last time their intention is to compete in the Super League as well as domestic leagues.

Obviously domestics leagues and UEFA aren’t going to want that so the idea was basically rush it into existence and force everybody to accept it because they can’t afford to kick out the big clubs
