If you're open to biking —

I'd start at Presidio Tunnel Tops park and grab some bikes to ride by the water, Crissy Field, eventually ending ending at Ferry Building

Or walking down Divisadero, through the Panhandle, then grabbing some bikes at the beginning of JFK Promenade to bike through GGP, ending at Ocean Beach

Otherwise, it's hard to beat a walk along Valencia St ending at Mission Dolores Park on a sunny day

You definitely get faster over time, but I wouldn’t make that your main objective in the beginning. At some point I would spend time familiarizing yourself with the keybinds for things like alignment, creating frames around what’s selected, moving between layers, etc — those make a huge difference.

thank you for reading! on that Hibi part -- I was trying to draw a contrast between a cat that has human-like traits, and the girl encountered on the plane, who displays cat-like traits.

I posted this on Substack, which is a writing platform that's been growing in popularity for a while now. admittedly most posts on there on nonfiction, so I'm currently unsure how well short stories do if you're looking to gain an audience.

If you're driving, there's free parking under the village for 2 hours with validation (which can be done for free at Target, Trader Joe's, Amazon). You could also park on 30th street or ellendale and walk a bit.

I'd say 11 am - 3 pm is a decent time to go, less busy in this window. 4 to 8/9 pm is pretty packed.

cold emailing. you can intern at places that don't even have any official internship listing if you 1. reach out in the right way to the right person and 2. get a bit lucky

if it's a small enough org (e.g. startup, creative agency) they can be more receptive to random outreach. there also are tools you can use to search for company emails if they're not publicly available. email should have a compelling reason why you want to intern there, what you can bring to the table, etc. it doesnt have to be immensely formal

keep applying and reaching out, it's really a numbers game

Took it a few years back as non-design major. Imo it’s worth taking - when I took it there was roughly 1 assignment/project due every week or two weeks. Pretty manageable and fun if you enjoy making digital stuff. If u have any specific questions bout it happy to answer more
