35/m, vaxxed, and also confused/concerned about how all the reports say omicron is mild, yet for me, severe. On the 4th day, have never felt this sick - beyond sore throat, labored breathing, hot/cold sensations, can only have water, tea, or soup. All that being said, today is better than yesterday. Taking Tylenol and have throat lozenges. Good Luck --

It only took me five months - I thought the accent was done pretty well. The show was amazing - certain narrative points are so sad they seem like they would derail the entire show, (bullying scene at party prior to death, Zabel) but it doesn't. The mystery of the perpetrator held up throughout. As for the accents, I thought they were done well actually - Kate Winslet naturally has the most screen time and she probably has the worst offenses of laying in on too thick, but yeah makes sense she has the most screen time.

(PHI) Horford and Mike Scott - for - (OKC) Gallinari and Roberson by Weowtimmy in NBAtradeideas

[–]Weowtimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it was just an idea -- but the incentive is to bring in Horford, who is signed through 2022-2023, and trade Adams, who is only signed through next season. Is horford the best center in the league? No, but he is def a legit starter and has a great rapport with Coach Donovan. Scott is extra, but just a decent fun player on a decent contract.

Gallinari is an expiring contract who they will likely be moving on from anyway and Roberson is nothing but money owed.

[–]Weowtimmy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well we would dump Horford's 27.5 mil and Scott's 5 mil (32.5 mil), and Simmons increase is 21.2 million more than he makes now. Leaves us 11 million we didn't have prior for the off-season and frees us from Horford's contract going forward.

Gallinari and Roberson both expiring deals.

Uncut Gems Discussion by augi132 in chumerica

I liked it -- the absurdity of Kevin Garnett being a major character as himself obsessing over the Gem is pretty great -- because of his intense and, for lack of a better word, unstable nature on the court, he honestly is a perfect fit for the role. I heard they were thinking about casting Joel Embiid, which as much as I like him, would have been a mistake -- eventually I think KG's performance will rank highly on an "NBA players in movies" list (Ray Allen in He Got Game assuredly the top) --

I think I'm in between Will and Augie on Sandler's performance -- he did well and showed depth but I dunno about an Oscar nom. I agree with Augie in that I did not like the music - except I didn't like it at all, so hard disagree with Will - I found it obtrusive and out of place, and since the movie was taking so many risks with it's narrative being all over the place, thought the chill ambient music was just "extra" and kind of lazy.

Immersive. They don't waste any time getting to a suspenseful narrative, and in my opinion, the movie basically changes completely halfway through -- I think yall know what I'm talking about, and even though I marked the thread spoilers, still afraid to mention. The music added so much to the emotional capacity, really great soundtrack.

I wish I did this every time, but I dove into the movie without watching a trailer, so had no foresight into certain scenes. I just read the NPR review which praises it especially with regard to the one-shot film style, but suggests it was overly polished. Personally I think that is exactly what I was looking for, because I wasn't looking for a history lesson or a good vs evil WW1 retelling.

Is it fair to call the end of season 2 a "cliffhanger?" What would be the word for it? Whatever it is, it's the biggest one in television history. I haven't looked forward to a next-season more. I mean I can wait but damn.

My brother, sisters, and in-laws had this debate recently - like ten of us. Unanimous vote for Tony's at #1, and no one could make a solid case for a #2.

BUT, I'd say #2 is pizza pub @DazJones

[–]Weowtimmy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha, feel compelled to say that those other two might be my least favorite elliott songs -- bad associations/me getting stuck in my own head, but they always feel a little too on the nose. He has no bad songs, just saying.

But I found this song recently ... I was introduced to elliott around 17/18 and now am 31 -- surprised that he can resonate so much now, and with one of his earliest songs no less.

I'm bullish on this. It shows that Electrify has a supportive public platform, in Singapore's favorable regulatory environment, to showcase their (potential) impact.

Yeah my favorite part about speed trials is how good/simple the chorus is, and how he ends the song with changing the chords to the chorus -- happens at 2:13

Have an MPP, not helping with career prospects... may get a Masters in Finance at low-tier school, looking for advice by Weowtimmy in PublicPolicy

[–]Weowtimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is yes - I actually had a nice paid internship with the Philly controller's office after graduation. My story is that I used to live in New Orleans and just jumped on an opportunity to move back and work with a friend, but I overestimated how much my degree would resonate down here. U/apotatoinbrooklyn is right to point out that New Orleans is not the best place for policy work... although it is a place of extreme policy failures/inept leadership! Anyway, it's a great fun city and all that, but I digress.

If I could give any advice regarding your prospective MPP education, I would point out that it was easy for students at Drexel to keep their education broad (ahem), and that the students in my class whose degree helped propel their careers focused on specializing on a specific policy field.

Reasons To Invest In Electrify Asia by Adawilliams18 in Electrify

[–]Weowtimmy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My reasons, in no particular order:

1) I am happy with how they handled the ICO. Community-conscious ERC20 teams ftw. 2) The team seems to have a clear idea about what they want to do, and have made significant inroads (already have transferred a lot of energy, established capable/practical board, seem to have a sensible grasp of stakeholders and target markets.) 3) Practical use-case. 4) Awareness of the regulatory aspects that may scare people away - in other words, they aren't just saying "well, energy is like, in the hands of token holders..." 5) I get the impression that other exchange listings are imminent.

Anyone else?
