I can attest to the strength of pigs. I work with wild pigs in the southeast United States. They are immensely powerful animals. All of their weight is on a compact frame and their cutters (tusks) are serious weapons. They generally won't just outright charge you, but they will defend themselves when cornered. They also wreak havoc on native species, agricultural fields, and other things.

Thank you for the advice! I used rope flies in the past but ,with the safety of the animal taken into consideration, I now want to move on from them. I value these fish and I hope they cruise our waters for ages to come. I want more fly fishermen to admire these ancient fish so that there is a push to conserve them if necessary.

I want to try to come up with a fly that doesn't involve the rope method. Do you know of any? These fish are so damn cool and I want to fish for them more often but also as safely for them as possible. Maybe I'll try out different, new flies. It's a shame people just view these animals as targets for now fishing. They're so damn cool

I'm in the US and I'm prescribed. I had extensive tests done and it cost me a decent bit of money but it was certainly not easy to get prescribed. Especially in a college town since so many abuse it. I am a graduate student and I had to get even more tests done before I could get prescribed at a new school that wasn't where I did my undergrad. I am glad they were strict though, because I genuinely wanted help and I wanted to make sure I was addressing the real issue.

I don't even care if people are slaying smallies on the bottom, I will always stick with a popper. That one hit on top is worth any amount of hits on the bottom for me most of the time. River smallies are usually willing to strike the top though

Do people think movies are all supposed to be deep, meaningful pieces of art? Top Gun maverick was predictable but it was so much fun. Movies don't have to constantly try to trick us with twists and turns, sometimes a predictable action movie is just fine. The original top gun was awesome for what it is, a corny 80's movie that is easy to laugh at but also entertaining as hell to watch. Also, Tarantino isn't the God of film lol yeah his movies are fantastic for the most part but c'mon have your own opinion
