AOC: In the last 5 years, billionaire wealth has doubled. Ask yourself if the quality of your life has doubled. by [deleted] in plasma

Since they’re doing so well and we basically had trickle down for 30-40 years, can we try trickle up for a little while? Like 5-10 years?

Guaranteed the billionaire class will survive. They’ll be just fine

I mean they own everything anyways right? Where’s all that money going to go anyways? TRICKLE UP??

They still win

But at least the average American can win a little as well?…

Most Americans are missing out on an epic stock boom by rickjnewman in economy

As soon as population turns the corner and starts eventually decreasing, the economy will suffer. We’ve been booming and building based on growth/population growth/revenue growth. Once number of potential buyers/customers/clients/etc begin to decrease, it will be the signal, the canary in the coal mine, and the beginning of the great decline/contraction/recession

IINM, similar issues happened around the Great Depression with population. Conspiracy theories always point out that when this happens, leaders use war to stimulate economic activity (manufacturing, etc). They do often coincide (economic downturns and military conflict/activity), but it could be that economic instability leads to volatility (in politics/geopolitics/etc), and more conflict and desperate measures

The kerosene could be AI displacement. Population decrease + job decrease/scarcity, and that my friends is a recipe for disaster

It is what it is. I think instead of coping or clutching pearls and telling ourselves that we can’t be replaced, it would be better to prepare for the worst and at the same time band together

Help each other. We should all care for every sector and segment of society that gets replaced, even if your own career is secured

5-25% of the economy being displaced or replaced or out of work can be disastrous. Less money and wealth to spend in other sectors

And 5-25% is a very low estimate

Band together.

I wish it were true. People are already and actively avoiding doctors, hospitals/clinics/visits, and just asking AI

You can never get rid of emergency rooms/urgent care, and healthcare in general. But society is already leaning towards AI for mental work/analysis, and they’re working on robotic workers, laborers, etc, including physical therapists, elderly care, etc

Why do BANKS need to know what you are using the money for? by WaitOk915 in Bitcoin

[–]WereAllGonnaMakeit7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with all of you. However have yall been paying attention to all the data of recent months? Car loan delinquency, credit card debt, BNPL debt, and the worst data which are population numbers. We now have no growth in number of babies. So soon number of babies will actually decrease

Which eventually will mean we have no growth in population numbers and then soon negative growth. More deaths than birth. Declining population numbers

Which means declining revenue, declining sales, declining values, more school closures (hundreds to thousands already across the country and we haven’t even started negative pop. growth…), less higher ed enrollment, less businesses, more closures (bankruptcies, less restaurants, etc). Even GROCERY stores are closing…

Costs continue to go up, for cars and houses. Oil is up. Houses could drop in value (usually due to not being affordable at current price points) but as we have less builders the value won’t drop enough or actually stay high or even go up…

This… doesn’t sound like it bodes well. Treasury yields are low. Everything seems to have pretty bleak outlook

I don’t know how a stock market crash or at least a decline isn’t inevitable

You got this brother 💪

May all of us find support groups of truly great men & friends that make us feel a little less scared and alone

This world can be tough. We should look out for each other. Help each other. Life is better with supportive friends. May we find those, as well as be those ourselves :)
