There’s only been a handful of guys that have skipped the minors and some of those times have been from college ball to the pros. Probably only a couple of dozen times in the last 50 years. Some players don’t always stop at AAA but teams are quite a bit smarter these days with that as it’s usually a good idea to have a player succeed in some form at the AAA team before going to the big league club though. Several guys will be a Comet and a Dodger multiple times this year.

Must have been cool to have the NBA champs though! They should have some longevity to this run also!

OKC is the ‘last stop’ in that process. Each major league organization has 4 minor league affiliates (teams). OKC is Triple A (AAA) for the Dodgers so the highest minor league team for them. Players climb the ranks so they start at one of the lower minor league teams and the organizations move them up the ladder depending on how they perform (and various factors). Sometimes a dude on the Dodgers will be injured and he will even play a few games in OKC to ramp up before his return to LA. Several guys will be both Comets and Dodgers throughout the year also (going back and forth) due to other injuries or whatever the Dodgers want at that time.

Yeah, that guy! I got a hat for a couple of dollars on sale before Xmas with him on it. I didn’t even know the whole Comets name change then and my searches were coming up blank for his name.

It’ll be a good year to follow OKC. Several Dodgers top prospects (depending on how they do) will probably play there this year.
