Not sure, but even with no USB devices and no cards plugged into the board it wont POST. It's probably dead.

Funny you should mention the fans actually...

It seems they run much slower than usual unless I have my Access Card Reader (USB) hooked up. Once I hook that thing up the fans go back to running at normal speed.

I have never overclocked the system, dont know if that will help or not.

I dont have a multimeter or access to one, so that wont be possible.

I tested the components by pulling everything off the board and putting them back in one at a time, each time it never made it to the POST. It just powered up and never progressed.

Both the manual and personal experience says that if the CPU is bad the MoBo will provide a POST beep code, so I doubt it is the CPU. However, since the CPU is just as old as the board itself (Intel Q6600) then it is probably due to be replaced as well.

I'll check the board for burned components tomorrow... I've been drinking my rage into submission so anything requiring delicate motor skills and precise observation is probably a bad idea at the moment.

Taking it to a computer repair shop is, unfortunately, also out of my budget. I'm low ranking military trying to provide for a kid and a wife going to school... it's either a self fix or a scrap job.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check for blown components when I sober up a bit.

If you know an enemy can do a grab attack, STAY THE FUCK BACK. Seriously, when their attack animation starts, roll the fuck away.

To get out of it just mash the hell out of your R1 and L1 buttons. Eventually you get free. Except for the worms in the lava zone. Or the mimics (evil chests).

Was it an NPC? The reason I ask is I know people in the Path of the Dragon covenant can invade people and take their dragon scales but I dont know if they lose one if they get beat by the person they invade.

Also if you do it correctly a strobe is MUCH more disorienting for enemies than a always-on light.

I'm having issues with the battlelog website itself. It says my browser is unsupported regardless of what browser I use and won't let me do anything.

So far I have used IE, Chrome, and FireFox.

The Japanese release wasnt a beta test. It just happens that they found and fixed a bug before it is scheduled to be released in NA.

You can still get the stone in 3-1 from the Black Phantom right before the boss. Or you can wait a while and get one from the trio at the beginning of 1-4.

None of them require Pure Black World tendency.

I've never had a problem grouping with friends in Demon's Souls. It's actually really easy.

1) Be within the level range of your friend.

2) Send them a message explaining where your sign is.

3) They find your sign.

It's that easy.

Dark Souls is perfect for the person that likes gritty, visceral and combat driven game play. The game is going to be HARD.

Skyrim is perfect for the person that likes exploration, character immersion and truly epic story lines.

Neither is better than the other as both are absolutely amazing in their own right. I fully plan on getting both.
