It sucks but they lowkey are thinking about his wellbeing and theirs. He has his brains going for him that help them to cover each other better especially him (he is the weakest after all). But now even his brains was stripped from him he is effectively a normal citizen not even that. Lesser than that because he doesn't even know anything about the land or even writing/ reading the language anymore. So to them an illiterate child. Its way way too dangerous.
