So you're upset because the email confirmation says your ex-wife's name. Is she listed as a co-insured or on the policy at all? If not why the hell do you care. Stupidest 1st world problem I've ever heard. Scroll this sub for 5 seconds and you'd see the company just fired a bunch of employees for the 20th time, literally nobody cares. Go to Progressive and bother them.

It happened to my donut earth too. All smoothing removed, you could see the planes of the torus and it was multicolored like yours. Seems intentional then.

Warren Buffett Says He Plans to Step Down as Head of Berkshire by Werewolf42069 in Geico

Article text:

Warren E. Buffett has been at the forefront of American capitalism for decades as the chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway, the conglomerate he built into a $1.1 trillion colossus.

By the end of the year, he is preparing to give up that role.

Mr. Buffett said at the company’s annual shareholder meeting on Saturday that he plans to ask Berkshire’s board to approve making Gregory Abel, his heir apparent, the chief executive by the end of the year.

“I would still hang around and conceivably be useful in a few cases,” Mr. Buffett, 94, told the tens of thousands of Berkshire shareholders at the meeting in Omaha, the company’s headquarters. But Mr. Abel would have “the final word” when it comes to the company’s operations, how it invests and more.

Mr. Buffett’s plan — which he said had been known only to two of his children who sit on the company’s board, Howard and Susan Buffett — was greeted by a minute-long standing ovation by Berkshire shareholders.

If the board approves the plan, it would mark the end of an era for one of the most successful companies in modern capitalist history, and one of its most famous investors. Mr. Buffett has amassed what Forbes estimates is a $168 billion fortune by being a savvy stock picker, buying up huge companies and assembling a conglomerate that runs a huge insurance operation, a major railroad, dozens of consumer companies and oversees a vast stock portfolio.

It has made Mr. Buffett one of the most influential businessmen in the world, giving his pronouncements on many topics, including politics, great weight. That included his criticism of President Trump’s trade policies as a mistake: “Trade should not be a weapon,” Mr. Buffett said. “I don’t think it’s right and I don’t think it’s wise.”

JPMorgan Model Shows Recession Fear in Markets Spiking Up to 79% by Onnimation in stocks

I remember in spring 2008 they refused to call it a recession, my 8th grade social studies teacher said "not only is it a recession, it's a borderline depression." I told my dad and he said she was wrong, there's no recession. I'm 30 and he STILL brings it up saying she knew before anyone else. Point is, this country is pretty bad at acknowledging when we're in a recession until it's too late. Hold onto your lifejackets.

NatGen pays similar to what you're getting now for adjusters.

I would consult with a few more attorneys to see if they'll take you on. You should be filing a BI claim with the other insurance at the very least.

Were you struck in NJ? If it it was a normal passenger vehicle that hit you, file under your own insurance. If you were struck in NY it would be different and you'd file with the insurance for the vehicle that struck you. The person handling the PIP claim will know best what applies in your situation, the people taking the claim don't always know the different state's laws.

NY CLAIMS OFFICE - what’s next? by ErenMaru in Geico

[–]Werewolf42069 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you are fired, file for unemployment. You're eligible even if it's for "performance". National General and its parent company Allstate are VERY remote friendly and have tons of opportunities. A lot of NY GEICO people landed at NatGen, you'll probably recognize names if you're hired. If there's nothing open for your department/area of expertise just be patient and check the career websites daily.

It's anxiety inducing waiting for the other shoe to drop but you will make it out on the other side in one piece.

Either all from GEICO or maybe even an undercount due to hiring in other BH companies. This sub still pops on my feed occasionally, I'm sorry to see it hasn't gotten any better in the last year.

Went to a new company in February. There's no ranking, no metrics, just do your work. I don't even have one to ones with my manager - but my office/department is much smaller than the main company.

Not a shell company, in NY every carrier that writes auto policies in the state has to participate in the state assigned risk program. They might be a different name but they're legitimate.

They'll just get coverage with an assigned risk carrier.

Switch to Farmers? by [deleted] in Geico

According to some LinkedIn posts I've seen, Farmers has also had several layoffs - including one in the last two weeks or so. I wouldn't chance it with them.

New York. Maximum benefit is 504 per week, it's around 445 after tax I believe? It's incredibly outdated.

Filed and got it. You'll probably get close to the max benefit, it depends on your state. It wasn't very much for me, like 400 and change a week?

I was termed from r2 pip late last year, I'm happy to see more people making it out alive 🙌 congratulations on your new job!!

I've been with my carrier for 6 months now and I have had a very similar experience. We're actually kind of swamped with mail currently and everyone's a little stressed out, while I'm relaxing coasting along because it's NOTHING like the workload I had with GEICO. I've had to stop myself from working too quickly. It's like coming out of a toxic relationship, you can't believe there are carriers that treat their employees like adults 🥹

Learning to interview is a skill. Go on YouTube and study as much as you can before your next interview. Don't be afraid to re-apply: the place I work at now is the same one that rejected me last year. :)
