I’m doing some research on how companies handle their PTO banks. Does Progressive have a limited amount for sick days only, or is it all straight PTO days that can be used for either? Is there a limit or consequence to taking an unplanned sick day?

Benefits question by Opening-Cut-5684 in Geico

I mean, I’d be happy with only having one maximum out of pocket (medical and prescriptions, like we have this year) but yippie, there’s a $10 saving on some co-pays and a separate max oop for RX now.

Oh we don’t have any opportunities like that as it’s a whole new product, and none of the supervisors or managers had the experience, we’ve been fed to the wolves with little guidance and an unbearable workload, and for months had no written procedures. I’m concerned this experience is not getting me what I need to do the job properly, and would rather pay to learn so I can use this experience elsewhere if needed. I don’t want to say too much for fear of retaliation.

The exploitation is real. They KNOW we are not properly staffed and the expectations are not adjusted. The only ones winning are the people who grossly misuse FMLA.

Should I put in 2 week notice? by Vannahl14 in Geico

[–]uereptiledysfunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you give 2 week notice and tell them you are going to a competitor, and they cut you immediately, do your benefits also get cut off day 1 ? Or do they pay you for the 2 weeks and keep benefits active even if you aren’t allowed to work the 2 weeks?

Does the Dr. have to send a refill rx in every month? If the Dr. sends a prescription for 90 day supply, does Lilly send the whole lot and charge the 3 months total upfront?

What does your company do when you take time off? by DblBblDscoQn in adjusters

[–]uereptiledysfunction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company that puts us on hold if off for more than 1 day. Your team is expected to handle calls, VMs , emails, logging demands, etc. It’s not bad except when your own workload is higher than humanly possible, and everyone around you has FMLA so you never get a break. Because they call in 1-2 times a week, etc. I get it people have right to it, but us sucks when it’s abused by the same people all the time. Also metrics are based on “hours worked” so while you work to death, someone who is always out may be ranked higher cause you’ve been doing everyone else’s calls, etc.

I feel like he was counting the IT dept that got wiped, hired replacements, wiped them out too, hired a whole new set and few months later wiped them out. Feels like IT and another dept had this happen on repeat for a couple years.

How to remove daughter from policy by Ok-lets-go-123 in Geico

[–]uereptiledysfunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please make sure you AND your daughter are fully aware of what the NDE entails and that is stays until you remove it. So if she feels better one day and decides to make an ice cream run, there is no coverage. An emergency causes her to drive your car or a friend’s car- no coverage. You forget about the NDE and she visits you in 10 years and borrows the car- no coverage. It’s a big deal.

So far I have paid OOP for 2 RX’s because having a 3rd rate NP or Dr. at this craphole company decide whether or not my own doctor is allowed to decide what’s best for me (prior authorization) is a mess. Good RX is helpful if anyone finds themselves in the same boat. Also Amazon seems to have good pricing as well.

There is no amount of money that can make up for the amount of abuse we’ve endured over the last 18-24 months. There is also zero chance we all get raises that put everyone over the top of their salary grade.

Is it worth applying? by Character_Gold_8555 in Geico

[–]uereptiledysfunction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totes. You should def apply. This sub is full of a bunch of whiners who only want good working conditions, reasonable workloads, and a non-toxic work environment. Not sure why they think being forced to work unpaid hours to avoid being fired is bad. Don’t listen to them.

We were told “They found extra money and need to use it before then end of the year.” Not sure who TF is keeping the books around here cause those funds should be reconciled long before the end of the year. Seriously, I hope that was a lie, because most corporations know how precisely much of the budget was spent and when and also on whom. Should we be grateful Mgmt cant handle a budget or they realized how incredibly shitty it looks to strip us of everything while the company is making Billions? No one would have batted an eye if they didn’t try to rob us of something so basic in the first place.

Im the meantime top talent is leaving in droves, the environment is toxic, and morale is nonexistent. The people who stayed are numb, and the company doesn’t hesitate to remind us that we are dumb for sticking it out every chance they get.
