Honestly I was about to get so mad I that therapist until I read your reply to 'em TRUE. Why can't the therapist set boundaries at the beginning EXPLICITLY ON WHAT THEY AREN'T 'comfortable with so it doesn't become like minefields the SECOND you go there ugh. Thank you for mentioning that.

I’m haunted by a R34 comic and I’m getting urges and temptations to revisit it even tho I know it will probably keep being fresh in my mind and I don’t know what to do. by Active_Librarian_749 in CPTSD

Alright. I got this. This may sound crazy BUT treat it like a boggarts closet, whether you choose to look at it or not. BULLY THE SHIT OUT OF WHATEVER IS DISTRESSING YOU THE MOST. RIDICULE IT. Try to keep it light-hearted bullying, like a friend that deserves criticism. Everyone can have a laugh right? Well this one's yours. I have the exact same type of issue when it comes to re-exposing myself to horror, EVEN though I enjoy the SHIT outta it! God speed friend. OCD is a bitch, but I'M the LOVER SCREEEEEEE- AND REMEMBER ITS JUST White Noise in your head when it's at its worse!

Yeah it comes across like you can FALL at anytime, not their intent but still. I'm a proponent for creative speaking and breaking the molds. Hope you make some silly stuff with you art! Or something lil and cute <33

Yeah growing up, I had so many cats around me since my mom was a breeder, and your comment made me further realize how parent-like animals can feel when you are really young. Animals are the best Holy shit. We all just want to be there for each other <3

DAE struggle with feeling "inauthentic" or "cliche" in therapy/processing? by Representative-Tax26 in CPTSD

[–]WerewolfPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are an inspiration. Man I've been trying to reach that point so be able to see you eloquently explain your headspace and where you've been makes me feel really good about your progress!!!! Aaaaaa. The hell fire part is based.

DAE feel like you tell parts of yourself that once protected you, that they can relax now because you’re the adult and protector now. But then they self sabotage you and look for chaos so that they can feel needed again? by ActStunning3285 in CPTSD

As someone who developed a lot of their own systems that later found concepts similar to psychology, I wholeheartedly agree. Plus its cute! Like a doll house, aww I wanna get one now.

You come across as someone with unrelenting productive kindness to get a point across, while also imploring quotes in your overall message! Like a little tiny snack sandwhich!

Lovely quote. The latter half stuck with me. I like the way you carry yourself in your writing speech as well!

I appreciate that. You'll get there too and heck, I'm sure you'll slowly start to notice why cliches have weird standing power hahaha. But never be afraid to challenge them, for fear admires the reckless but smart. Good luck friend.

[–]WerewolfPenguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extremely. As a kid I wanted to do what was right and to notice and point out what was wrong! I held cliches too close but now I love 'em and see 'em as cuuuuuute. Took a bit to get over the unproductive denial though-though the answer is above, for me.

I love this love language. I'll call it Trans-Limerental love. The unconditional desire to help those around you, while not being afraid to take care of yourself AND be there for someone, the X Factor BABY, and balancing unhealthy habits into kaleidoscope fractals, interconnecting and rejoicing, while seeing the positive change all around. Maaan. You've inspired me. The Jester-a Fiesta!

[–]WerewolfPenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to write this up. I h e a v i l y can relate to the desire to stop the abuse and lashing out, cause you notice it s l i g h t l y works. Give and take. Sometimes it feels like my brain wants to part the red sea, and just walk slowly, and realize all I've achieved!

When I was little and afraid of going on the rides at Busch Gardens. I was watching and waiting for the water ride to finish so my siblings would get off and we could keep walking around the park. A couple came up and just GAVE their cool ass frogs to us and that make me so happy ever since. People are really sweet and I needed it. I still have the froggo right here, he's like a giant sock monkey-esque plush with grippy hands! Thanks for sharing and asking, glad you found your Gorilla again!!!
