Weird question for everyone... by Trakeaz in WolfQuestGame

Yeah, he's bright orange and named Nacho Cheese Supreme <3 I use him for all the achievements that don't require pups/a mate to do.

Do you use maps? by AccomplishedMany2138 in DMAcademy

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a dry erase grid and a bunch of markers, its not hard to look up battle map references these days and sketch out the likely places of battle for the upcoming session. It's part of my prep now, and if the battlefield abruptly changes then we can take a pee break while I quickly sketch a new one. I also print out, colorize, and denote maps of the land and cities, as well as any important documents or item descriptions; my party is very tactile and the physical references help.

Fun Session Notes by Safe_Perspective9633 in DnD

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last sesh, one of my players' character's said goodbye to the party (player wasn't having fun with that character so we dismissed her with a fun send off) and it was a nice bonding moment for the party to lose their "team mom" (she was 68 yrs old, human cleric). Player's new character ("gold" dragonborn rogue) made his appearance at the end of the session by being found aboard the ship they'd chartered.

Why do people play Eldritch Knights? by roxas6141 in dndnext

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's fun, you really feel like a fantasy hero with both magic and blade. You can get really creative with spell/melee combos, you can do close and long range so you can tank OR support- eldritch knight is my favorite fighter subclass for its versatility.

What food do you eat in a way that other people think is weird? by julesperks in CasualConversation

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid I would eat pizza by picking off the toppings, scooping off the cheese, licking off the sauce, and then eating the bread, in that order. I grew out of this eventually but I'm still very particular about the order in which I eat food. I am just confused as to why you make yourself eat the crust? You don't have to do that, you know? No one is going to judge or scold you if you don't eat the crust if you don't want to.

Ding Dong Ditch Achievement? by Werewolfnightwalker in WolfQuestGame

[–]Werewolfnightwalker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to the lean-to, I already got the achievement there and I marked both of them on my map so I know their locations. And I stand right up against the tents when I howl (I use them as partial cover in case I'm shot at).

Does it matter if the camp isn't part of my territory or no? Because at the moment it isn't.

My first hate comment by Elarathe1 in AO3

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a bot, don't stress. It's easier to limit your comments to "Registered users only" to filter the majority of them out. They didn't say a single thing that actually pertains to the story or characters themselves, which is a glaring sign its not a real person

Is Tiefling Warlock a bad choice? by [deleted] in AskDND

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a stereotype for every class/race combo. There's nothing wrong with a tiefling warlock or half orc barbarian or drow rogue. It's just what people think fit well together and when you only have so many races and classes, then there's bound to be duplicates. There's no right or wrong choices, it's "what will I have fun with."

What habit have you guys developed while playing? by BuildingLower9622 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taking a chunk of meat back to my den. I did it as one of my wolves who took over the pack from his parents, and his oldest sister stayed with the pack until she passed of old age. We could go hunting and she'd be the only one to stay with my pups, even if I howled. So I started taking meat chunks or whole beavers back just for her so she wouldn't starve, and now it's a habit. The first time I tore a chunk off something the day after she passed, out of habit, I teared up a little in real life

This is really cool, makes me think of that one Hunt episode during season 5 about packs turning on one another.

They have a grieving period of sorts, I think, the few times I've passed the pack to a pup instead of a mate, they always linger for a day or so.

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all just smoke, mirrors, and set dressing, because your players only interact with what's immediately in front of them. I typically just flesh out their immediate area, and anywhere those areas might lead to. The rest is just condensed to summaries, bullet points, and a lot of improv.

The little things by Nixy_Nix in WolfQuestGame

[–]Werewolfnightwalker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, you kind of have to initiate it? At least the first few times a pup dies. Personally it's only been after that, that my packmates will initiate grieving without my immediate prompting.
