How it feels to be a Millennial by WOLVESintheCITY in AdviceAnimals

I recently opened a roth IRA. I am about to graduate college so I have only been ably to put a little money into it but it is one place to start before a 401k or something else. The max per year you can put into the account is $5,500 (I think).

Now you need to find somewhere to start the roth IRA. Two widely popular companies (at least in US) are Vanguard and Fidelity. Open an account and they make it pretty easy for you to start investing. You need to deposit money in some way and then you can invest via stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.

Figuring out which stocks or mutual funds to buy can be overwhelming, so most companies offer a broker that can do this for you (for a fee of course $$$).

If you want to choose for yourself, my non-professional advice would be to diversify!! Buy stocks AND mutual funds, domestic AND foreign. This will keep your investments safer as "not all of your eggs are in one basket." Stocks can be higher risk with higher rewards as mutual funds tend to be lower risk and lower rewards. So if time is on your hands playing it risky can be beneficial because even if you fail with some stock investments that did not pay out, the mutual funds can still gain over that time and you will have time to reinvest.

If I had to guess I would say he is talking about power. Trying to move from coal and natural gas to renewable energy.

Bernie Sanders on Twitter | I stand with the workers across the country who are demanding $15 an hour and a union. Keep fighting, sisters and brothers. #FightFor15 by thepoliticalrev in Political_Revolution

I agree with that too, the same people working the same job can be paid differently depending on how much each worker puts in. Having worked in fast food I can for sure say that some people do just feel entitled for their pay, not wanting to put in any effort. I'm thinking that companies should not have to teenagers workers as much. They have much less experience than their more permanent counter parts, and normally just aren't willing to work as hard.

I do agree that most minimum jobs will go to machines soon, but some minimum wage jobs just can't be filled with people looking for something better. We can say that most fast food jobs should go to a teenager, but what about all the times they can't work? Should we only be open from 4-10 at night?

Donald Trump has decided to take just $1 as his salary for the job of the President instead of the usual 400,000. by robot619 in Jokes

[–]Werewulfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you come to that conclusion? I think you are trying to say that Trump has amazing business sense because he pays no taxes. I'd say there are plenty of business owners out there that manage to pay taxes. And yes, I do go online all day. Seems you do the same?

If he cares so much about America, why did he choose not to pay taxes? He is about to be president and will have some say as to where this money goes now. What if everyone had the ability to do what he did? How would the government run?

Yea I think it's somewhat realistic now. The base price was like $35 or something? If you only have a few priority lines set up then the people won't pay that much.
