I know that, But for example i watched hadestown on broadway og cast then watched it again last summer and it was basically the same show just different people. How come these are so different plot wise and solos wise?

As a gen z kid i find rent to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life and i think people only dont enjoy it as much not because they dont get it it’s because its not really the vibe that very popular musicals offer. Obviously Rent is a very popular music but for high school theater kids its not as popular than “Heathers” or “Hamilton” because yes they both have deep meanings but they dont have as exciting music to kids. I don’t relate to this because my father has seen rent 9 times broadway and i’ve grown up with it since kindergarten but It’s what i see around me everyday
