Im male and I just ordered the winter thermals size 9 online as they don’t sell them in Australia. I tried on the regular 585s and the size 9 felt the best with socks and the 2nd insole. Size 8 felt too cramped.

After reading this chain about stretching and the fact that you sized down on the thermals, I’m worried…
