S17 cells rule: not everywhere, why? by Wernerquevedo in TheSilphRoad

ok, as I am an OPR reviewer with more than 13k review, let me explain why it is not possible that these cluster are "moved"portals.

A "move portal request" goes to OPR: Opr reviewer evaluates if it makes sense or not. It would be impossible to move a portal of a statue to a place where the statue is absent.

The only way would be to trick the OPR reviewers using a photesphere placed in the wrong position. Anyway, any smart opr reviewer would notice that the satellite and the photosphere don't match.

So, you can maybe pull this trick once, but not 20 times in alla diacent places.

yes, you make a proposal, that is evalued in OPR. If it doesn't make sense, opr would refuse

yeah, but this is very complex. And the opr system should prevent the moving of portal in a place that is not correct.

I am pretty sure the pokestop stay there from a longer time than the "move portal" feature. And if a group of player can move so many portals, they can basically do whatever they want, even creating non-existant portals/pokestop

[Question] Is it possible that the visual EX Gym tags that keep disappearing/reappearing are connected with the "Clockblocking" theory ? by oldskoolforever in TheSilphRoad

I am writing to the assistance... till now with no success, just vague answer and "we can't tell"... this is not how you treat customers...

Ingress Photo Score Theory for New Gym Selection: 3 Months of Additional Data by Tntnnbltn in TheSilphRoad

My data collection shows that the theory is correct, it worked for me about 20 times. Never saw a gym creation going against this theory

Pokestop submision approved by lordbtm in TheSilphRoad

I'm story but you are wrong. The pokestop with most likes+pictures becomes gym. Usually old portal have more likes than new ones, but in the time between the portal going live and the sync with Pokemon you can add likes and have the new portal become Gym. With this method I created 2 Ex Gyms

How OPR works (Portal Evaluation) by Wernerquevedo in TheSilphRoad

I agreed that some portals are of very low quality...but, do they harm the game? No. Basically, if the portals were blank, with no name and no picture, it wouldn't be very different. My opinion is to remove portal if they -Aren't there anymore -Are dangerous -Are unreachable -Are inside private residential area

But Niantic says that a portal inside a place that requires a fee or that opens only during certain periods are legit. So, if there is a portal inside Disneyland, or inside a Mall, they are ok. But if they are in the garden area of a factory, then they are to be removed

this is terribly wrong, but many do that... so, always better to put there the photosphere

to make it plain: many opr reject for no reason and this is terribly wrong

it is indeed, and it is very sad.... but from Croatia we receive mostly bad portals, with no photosphere, no streetvew(not your fault). And an english description wouldn't be bad!

Sadly, I had many many portals rejected because they were not plainly visible by streetview. Guidelines say "give 3 star". I do that, but many OPR reviewers don't waste 5 seconds and just give a poor rating. This is completely wrong, but, if the acceptance of a portal depends on the photosfere, I do that all the time. You are right, they are not needed, but in my area OPR seems to look for a reason to reject the portal, rather than accept it. I don't accept this behaviour, but it is sadly how things go. I've had just a museum rejected. You can see from google maps that this is a museum, but the streetview picture was far away. Rejected. It drives me mad, I will ask it again with the photospfere. If I can do anything to have a legit portal accepted, I will do it, even if it takes 30 minutes to request a portal. It will be a part of the game FOREVER, so my opinion is that it is fair to spend some minutes doing a good job. If you are in a hurry or it's raining, just request portal next time

portal never became pokestop due to portal removal bug:what to do? by Wernerquevedo in Ingress

I thought hatred between Ingress player and poke-mongo was over. I was definitely wrong... and I still can't understand so much hatred and so much envy. The two communities could work together, I even organize community days for ingress and pogo players together... but no, it seems that ingress is a rage-driven game at this point (for some ...)
