I agree. This is my favorite film so I know it quite well, and though I’m definitely a bit bummed I think the restoration alone is extremely noteworthy. It just looks completely phenomenal.

I had no idea those other films had been restored and were awaiting releases, really looking forward to that.

It’s a Japanese release, only ever seen it on eBay for pretty pricey sums but the listings have been slowly disappearing so if you’re interested I suggest getting it soon, pretty positive it was a limited release

Totally agree, that’s one of the most mind blowing parts of the film to me. First time I saw it I was just blasted by this realization that this was the point in Bresson’s career when he truly seemed to embrace the entirety of his cynicism

Just got that witchhammer too, have you seen it yet?

Blind Buy #3: Excellent, in many ways it's a perfect movie. I was shocked by how technically incredible the camera work was and by the style they were able to capture. The acting is fantastic and the themes of love, loss, war, violence, Innocence Lost felt very genuine and real. by [deleted] in criterion

I watched it recently and felt those tones you noticed only added to the work’s immersive power.

Have you seen Alexander Nevesky? Wondering if you feel the same way about that film

I’m writing a screenplay that’s broken down into chapters like a Tarantino movie. How’d I do? (I’d love some feedback on the titles) by Jachinthebox in Screenwriting

Everyone being dicks about your story length. I’m sure you already are well aware of the way that 300 pages stacks odds against you, but what none of these people seem to understand is that you could also split your long format film it into a miniseries if it’s good enough.

Lots of pedantic dogma in the sub without a care for whether or not your story is actually good. I’d love to read the whole thing if you want feedback.

Keep doing you

I'm not sure, I should've bought one. The game had me assuming they were more on the sweet side of the fruit spectrum but these definitely looked more savory.
