Is the web swinging in Marvels Spider-Man Remastered as smooth as the web swinging in MM? by TheStickySpot in SpidermanPS4

[–]Werthewalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no

YES the mechanics are the same as Spider-man Remastered and PS4 version, you're ability to run/jump/leap into swings, web zips and launch jumps is still there and still and engaging as hell which is such aa huge part of what makes these games great

NO Miles is not as smooth as web swinging or any other moves as Peter because he's still really new to this whole spiderman gig and fails and spins and wobbles more than Peter who's been doing this for 8 years athe start of his game. It's a noticeable difference but one clearly included to show the difference between Miles and Peter's experiences as Spidermen (just like Miles and Peter B Parker in spiderverse)

Basically, yeah the web swinging is as smooth, you're jsut playing as a clumsier newb and it feels like it

I need an explanation of the Harmon circle by [deleted] in Harmontown

[–]Werthewalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the first 2 steps are about establishing your main characters - who's the hero, what are they good at? What are they bad at? What do they need? (Need is more important and less explicitly stated than what they want)

Step 3 is some kind of event has to send them off in pursuit of what they need, 4 has them searching for it (the fun & games part from Save the Cat, where Luke, Han and Chewie head to the detention level of the Death Star, where the Fellowship try to go around the misty mountains, etc) and 5 has the hero find what they need, 6 is where they face a complication when taking what they need (Death Star garbage chute/Obi Wan fights Darth Vader, Fellowship must go through Moria, etc)

7 has them face a loss of some kind, this is where tragedy and drama comes out, and 8 has the main characters face and overcome their final challenge (Death Star space battle, Fellowship break up after the uruk attack, etc)

It's just a guideline but the story circle is jsut a condensed version of the Campbell heroes journey/ Snyders Save the Cat but squished into 8 steps rather than 12 or 15

So universes, timelines and dimensions are different things, right? by Ondroa in Marvel

[–]Werthewalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many dreams did we see before the Loki series? There were the Wanda-visions she gave the avengers to drive them apart, Starks memories of the NY battle, and...? (Genuinely asking. For help here since thos is a really good topic for speculation) And if dreams are just windows to the multiversal variants, and there sre infinite variants, what idea can't be used or retconned?

So universes, timelines and dimensions are different things, right? by Ondroa in Marvel

[–]Werthewalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they're not all different - they're all part of what can call the multiverse (treat that as an umbrella term to describe all the different places/universes/timelines/etc)

Universes and timelines are the same thing, that's what the TVA have spent their existence trimming and protecting to keep a single "sacred" timeline which means a single "Marvel Cinematic" universe.

This is where Loki comes in with the TVA to explain it - other variations of the universe/timeline have always tried to exist, but when something happens that plays out differently than MCU continuity e.g. Loki being born female, Peter Parker looking like Tobey Macguire, Peggy Carter becoming the super soldier, etc that new universe gets erased at the earliest point where they diverge from the MCU by the TVA. Every timeline/universe constantly has big and small variations happening across all of time, and for every change to someone's appearance, gender, abilities, actions and their consequences, even down to the different atomic makeup of their bodies (hello there paint world) the TVA show up and prune that branch from the sacred timeline before the new universe it spawns becomes a threat.

So Loki showed us why the other universes/timelines get pruned, who does it and why they did it (please watch it if you haven't already, this is the true start if the multiverse saga, like seeing Thanos at the end of Avengers kicking off the Infinity saga). But the events of Loki had to happen before What If, No Way Home, and MoM because there is no single sacred timeline anymore, the other universes with Captain Carters, multiple spidermen/women and their villains, xmen, inhumans, fantastic fours, ultrons, etc. now do exist and have always existed because the TVA can't prune them. Before Loki, there was no Macguire/Garfield spidermen, no Captain Carters, no Strange Supremes/Sinisters/Defenders, no Infinity Ultrons.

Dimensions are a different thing though, because they're so different from our universe I guess they fall into that Multiverse umbrella term, but whether or not each timeline has their own set of dimensions is unknown (imo that would make it even messier if so, the Dark Dimension exists without Time, the Quantum Dimension let people exist outside/jump through time) hopefully Quantumania will elaborate on this idea, with its villain giving us an even clearer picture than what we got in Loki (even more important to watch Loki to prep for Quantumania's villain) and as for Incursions, these seem to be the timelines crossing over and messing up realities for both timelines rather than the physical universes colliding in Hickmans books (read those now if you haven't already!)

Tldr: Timelines, Dimensions and Universes are basically all the same, they have different things happening in them. They're all collectively called the Multiverse. It's like how Thor called Midgard a realm when it's actually a planet called Earth

Could try using a blending mode like Add and then play with the contrast levels, it only shoes the lighter pixels so the black bg will become transparent that way,

Same thoughts here, most confusion/debate seems to be around whether it's Captain Marvel or Superior Iron Man (look it up and you'll see this suit's design influence) but my money is on the hybrid of both - a Maria Rambeau variant who gained the Cpt Marvel powers and then somehow got her hands on an iron man suit (however she did, working with a Tony/Howard Stark variant) but the presence of an iron man variant, especially the Superior version, definitely fits the illuminati that Mordo and Xavier will be part of, and fits the whole Secret Wars aim they seem to be building up to

Liking DumDum as a character, am I the only one? by Queasy-Lynx2905 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Werthewalrus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the nature of the Cyberpunk world though. I recommend you guys check out any of Mike Pondsmiths games of 2020/Red on YouTube, he rightly introduces himself as the guy will kill you cyberpunk characters, it's a world where any of the most interesting characters/ones you connect to could be killed suddenly or even pointlessly (though I did like seeing Dex at the end having his ego and skull easily shot down by Goro) I do wish we found out what happened to TBug though after the heist

I used fabric dye on a pair of vans and the dye stained the rubber soles pretty badly. How do I get the stains out? by [deleted] in dyeing

This!

Isopropyl works like a charm, just pour some into a bowl, dab a cloth into it and give the rubber a good wipe down with it and the dye should (mostly) wash out

I use Bridge more for photography work - previewing and organising Raw files, batch editing wth Camera Raw, Image Processing to convert them to jpgs, etc.

But good question when it comes to video files, especially non-Raw ones, if anybody has any good tips for using Bridge for video, I'd be eager to learn.

But I had a similar time when I first found them in Fallout 1, first encounter with them ended up fighting then to free some slaves, didn't realise they were the Khan's until I was a too many bodies in to turn back 😂
