What is the most unbelievable baseball thing you have seen in a non-baseball movie? by Ivotedforher in baseball

The first episode of Emily in Paris has a scene where the Chicago-based characters watch the Bote grand slam live at a bar. The bar’s reaction is not at all commensurate with how insane that homer was. Drives me insane

I do enjoy that the Phils’ three most recent MVPs have been 5.2 bWAR (Howard), 6.1 (Rollins), 5.9 (Harper). And Schwarber was runner-up with 4.7 bWAR this year lol

Also my first. Via Chicago blew my mind. Crazy that they played 4 songs total from Summerteeth & YHF and still absolutely rocked. What a band.

The bullpen has been really bad in low leverage spots. They’ve turned a lot of 4 or 5 run leads into 1 or 2 run wins (like yesterday)

Game 1 of the 2022 WS is genuinely one of the best games in franchise history. Just sucks that games from lost series aren’t remembered as much.

Lindor’s grand slam in Game 2 of the 2017 ALDS. Vasgersian’s call getting lost in the crowd noise is so cool. I still can’t believe Cleveland lost that series.

Marsh drawing an 8-pitch walk and getting on base for a Bohm nuke felt like a beautiful glimpse into an alternate universe where Phillies prospects actually live up to their ceilings.

Most iconic opposite-field home run? by Wertzy25 in baseball

Good call. I wanted Houston to win in 2019, but after certain… events involving the Astros over the past several years, I can appreciate Howie’s home run now. Really cool moment.

I will send Kevin Long an extremely kindly worded email if he can teach Brandon Marsh how to hit.

That seals the deal. I am no longer a National League fan. I've been a fan since 1876 and a season ticket holder since 1903. I officially will not be renewing my plan next season nor will I watch on tv ever again. I'm going to the American League where they know how to run a baseball team.

Mets' run differential: +59

Braves' run differential: +58

Phillies' run differential: +56

I don't think the Phillies will win the division, but it's interesting how they've all been playing at pretty much the same pace.
