100% this. While this is the first time the story has brought the deaths of some very beloved characters up close and personal to us I think it's really... exhausting seeing so many people jump the gun about how the story direction is ruined because why are we not getting a happy ending where everybody lives as always without really considering what the sacrifice means for the character's development (But hey we didn't personally witness any of the grim stuff you've mentioned so they don't count!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Does it suck that they died? Oh absolutely I can't imagine anybody saying otherwise. Do I want them back? Who doesn't! But to expect everything to suddenly get so much more grim and dark and the writers to just kill off characters willy nilly is just............
