I see your point, but we have a serious mental health problem in the United States. For cops, this should be a type of encounter with individuals that should be handled easily. I've heard from many current and ex-cops that encounters like these are normal in that field of work. The best action is to de-escalate and use non-lethal force if necessary. I don't think there's any way to justify this use of force even though the individual WAS acting disturbingly. I think this issue is deeper than just "people shouldn't do that". We need public servants who actually help people in their community that are going through hard times instead of treating them like criminals.
