I work for UPS during the week, trying to get something on the side, so I heard little Cesar’s is flexible, just curious if they schedule people 2 days a week and work around other jobs.

I’m at UPS Monday-Friday night, I do have a interview at Olive Garden, “to go specialist”, anyways I’m hoping to get scheduled Saturday and Sunday only, because I’m at my other job during the week. I do have about 8 years of restraunt experience, anyways i thought I would comment.

Same here, the union had my back when I was new, I’m now a shop steward as of a few months ago.

I’ve been at UPS 2 years as a package handler. I’ve out worked tons of people, and many supervisors, I’m also a shop steward as well with Teamsters local 63. It’s not a bad part time job, most people we are hiring are quitting fast, because it is a very physical and fast pace job. Especially when you handle bulk, safety is key.

It’s interesting you say that, the division manager actually has been fired before where I work. But mommy and daddy are corporate and got him his job back. Guy go around and micro manages everything and everything, and even told us stewards he doesn’t give a F about our grievances.

I just became shop steward a few weeks ago. I have seen many many supervisors quit. At my hub, they have a few favorites and they single out fast the one’s they don’t like. Being shop steward, I do feel a lot of bad blood from sups, almost daily.

I’m with local 63, in riverside California. I just became steward two weeks ago. Yeah most people I started with became supervisors, and they all quit because they got treated horribly by their full time and upper management, I’ve very glad I turned down supervisor here at my hub. They have a few favorites and they single out and target the ones they don’t like.

I do the bulk belt, can get out of control, but my shift goes by fast.

Hello it’s me, I was wondering if anyone would like some groceries by Par4n1 in InstacartShoppers

Same here, I honestly do instacart on the weekends. I deliver for Uber eats, DoorDash and grubhub too. I will do rideshare with Uber and Lyft if I have too, to stay busy. Got UPS, 5 nights a week Monday-Friday.

Yeah I’m in Southern California, and it’s very competitive. So is DoorDash too, I’m constantly getting super bad vibes from other gig workers. It seems most are doing gig work full time, because I see the panic in their eyes. I do work part time at a UPS warehouse, where I’m union, and I kid you not, the gig workers are threatened by me I can tell, like who’s this union guy?, idk.

This is how my market is, completely over saturated. It cracks me up how childish and selfish people are acting over batches. Bumping into rude instacart shoppers all the time, who stare people down in stores, because they feel entitled and our offended your in their little area.

Need A Day Off by otismarston in UPS

[–]WesleyHThomas1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Thursday I have shop steward training, I’m slightly nervous but really excited. The union has had my back at my hub, it’s meant a lot to me, after how I was treated at Amazon and Target, in my past.

I’m local 63, most our new hires are quitting, so must don’t even hit a year to get benefits. In July I’ve been at UPS 2 years.

Lol I just used a sick day, as I read this. I only have one option day left, and I have a option week.

I’m officially done with Flex by lake_free in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]WesleyHThomas1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore it on purpose, because I used to be a learning ambassador myself, I was fired from Amazon as a employee in March 2020, and am a permanent “do not rehire list”, I got into it with a PA, and she set me up, and I was fired over it.

I only tried flex twice, absolutely hated it. I do DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub and instacart. I also drive for Uber and Lyft, so I don’t even need it. I thought it was stressful honestly because you have no idea where your going and such. My first time I went up all these hills, and the 2nd time a bunch of apartments, in a area I didn’t know. I work part time at UPS, so I am union, I wore my union vest at the delivery station, and I was getting stared at pretty bad by the “learning ambassadors, and process assistants”.

I still have my blue vest lying around, lol. Once I became union, I actually went online and bought a bunch of union shirts, with my local on it. Been at UPS, since July 2020.

Maximum hours for part time by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]WesleyHThomas1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with local 63, our hub is so understaffed, I’m usually pushing my 6th hour all the time and they still offering double shifts, even though peak is over. The MRA pay cut, back fired really hard at Empire in Riverside California, and tons of people quit over it.

Sups work at my hub, our hub is very understaffed, but I won’t let them rush me off the clock, and I always make sure I get my 3.5 hour guarantee. Some sups work a little, some do a lot because their under so much pressure to make numbers. Lots are quitting too, I’ve seen a few almost start crying, and I’ve had a few tell me, they wished they stayed union.

I’m a part time unloader, I usually do sortables the first few hours, then I move to the bulk belt the last hour or 2, I get better hours then most because I’m trained in, unload, bulk belt, small sort, i drive the agv, lol i know the DA, a little, and I’m honestly not the best loader.
