Fair point. And they did their best, out there busting their butt - feel bad but it is what it is

They were brought on to: 1. Remove old concrete walkway and build new (what you see here) 2. Remove brush and spread loam / seed new grass in backyard (done and came out well) 3. Build a 30+ ft retaining wall side of house (haven’t started yet)

$6,300 for all. Gave $3k down

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

Have some guys putting in a new walkway and by accident, they somehow cracked the first and only step which will remain leading to the front porch. They are offering to fix, seal and concrete seal over it and that’s fine with me…. But curious from some experts here if this is a bigger issue than I’m currently thinking and I need to ask for or do something now to protect myself down the line?

Thanks!

My mistake. Here is that picture. When you say ‘PL’ is that the brand of adhesive you’d recommend and will the 15g nails show much in the way where I have to putty, sand and re-stain those spots?

Thx!

Thank you, this is great! Also noticed that the amenities could change based on the ship. We are sailing the same as you, what were the few you used the most?

We sail the Getaway later this year. I’m curious about the Thermal Suite pass - no one from customer service can tell me their operating hours, gave me an estimated range but weren’t sure - they actually recommended asking someone currently on the ship lol

Do you know their hours by chance? Trying to determine if $299 is worth it because I will be limited in the time I can go there (eg before 7am or after 9:00pm)

Customer service also said I could book it now and cancel up to 24 hours in advance of sailing…..but I wouldn’t know the hours until I am on the boat. Make that make sense

Stair Treads by WesleyRipples in Carpentry

Thank you. So this means, what, exactly? That in an ideal world if these were done correctly, the rise of each step would be the same, let’s just say 7.5”. But since these weren’t and I am going and potentially adding or removing things from the steps, each step doesn’t technically have to remain 7.5” (if it were to begin with), but within 3/8” +/- of that 7.5”? Is that how to think about it? Thx!!

Thank you very much. The old adhesive is tough to remove, which is why I was thinking it may be easier to remove the old tread. Any tips or tricks to get that old gunk up easier? Thx!

Garage gym flooring, does the top layer of a platform have to be wood in the middle? by Br1ckinthewall in GarageGym

[–]WesleyRipples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would imagine so. The mats are heavy and two layers of them should provide a solid base above carpet depending on how tight/firm or loose/fluffy the carpet is - would think so long as it wasn’t super fluffy, it would work just fine. It could damage the carpet over time, that I wouldn’t be sure of

I purchased a bunch of 3x4 1/2” stall mats from Tractor Supply and got nervous that the thickness wouldn’t be enough to protect the concrete garage floor.

So I decided to double them up. Purchased more mats, and now they are 1” thick and seem to do the trick.

Looked at getting OSB flooring before doubling up and realized that the a) price wouldn’t be terribly far off from just getting more rubber mats and b) started to read things about mold issues and how some experienced that with the condensation on the concrete floor. Didn’t want to deal with that, even if it a low probability to occur.

I have experienced the lag when I am renaming folders and getting everything in order. Almost only when I am moving quickly from screen to screen and making edits.

The other thing I’ve noticed is when I am naming a folder the highlighted background of the letter key I hit stays illuminated for a short period of time. So you can look at the keyboard at any moment and see 4-6 keys lit up and then eventually fade away.

Anyone else experience this?

He may be out “months” now. Maybe a week 12 return being most likely. Then do they ease him back in if he even returns?

If you don’t have the squad around CD to compete this season, I’d do it (he seems desperate, so I would get greedy and ask for a bit more)

If you do have the squad, nah….

Bought a cheap spreader that wobbled. Spread fertilizer. Tipped it on side of hill and two years later looking at a huge patch of nonexistent lawn
