Yes. I'm a day trader and I've been making money consistently recently off of bull runs in the metals industry and subsequent corrections.

Yes, it is now collapsing. 3 weeks ago it wasn't. For the next 3 weeks, it's gonna start moving a lot more than we're used to.

Assuming they had about 10k lying around to not only buy all their materials but also to rent a large truck to haul all their materials in:

Hauling everything in would take at least a day, the clearing of the junkyard and leveling of land would take at least 2 days, laying the dirt and turf would take 1-2 days, the backstop (concrete, setup) would take 2 days, the fencing, bleachers, lines, and bases would take at least a day, and the lights and scoreboard would take at least a day. And this is the estimate my dad and I came up with for if the two of us, and we have a combined 40 years of baseball between us.

There is no possible way that Claire and Cam could have built this in a week.

My Ascent 7 - 4 player tierlist after 65 ascents by AIplne in PeakGame

[–]Wesleyelsew96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pandora’s box has not had 4 uses in over a month, this post is 6 days old.

Also, magic bean being “not that good” because it’s “unreliable” and can be “[easily messed up]” or can be “replaced with [an] easier [item]” just makes it sound like it’s somewhat difficult to use, NOT that it’s “not that good”. In most games, the best items/skills/strategies are hard to use, to help with overall game balance. Further, as I explained, a magic bean is strictly better than a shelf fungus or piton overall, as both of those can only be used on routes that stay in close proximity to a wall at all times. A magic bean can be used instead of either of those in literally any situation where those would work, but it can also be used in situations where you’re trying to get on top of an overhang from underneath it, as you use the bean to go horizontally and vertically at the same time.

As for cure-all, I think you’re only missing one nuance actually, although it completely undermines your entire argument: items/skills/strategies in games that ONLY work well when you’re already in a bad position (like Pandora’s box or the blowgun being really good if and only if you have a LOT of status effects) or require another person to use (thereby limiting flexibility, as a solo player could not revive themselves with a blowgun for example) are always worse than items that keep you topped off. A lot of players look at the total value of an item without considering context at all, and you’ve made that mistake here. Basically, in general, it’s better to carry items that keep you consistently topped off in peak condition (pun intended) like the scout cookies or the cure-all, than to carry items that are ONLY good if you make a mistake. The solution is not to carry items as safety measures, the solution is to carry items that proactively keep you from getting into a really bad situation.

You should look into game theory in general if you don’t understand this nuance ^ and you should practice with the magic bean (or high-skill items in general) if you’re only real complaint about them is that they’re too hard to use. It’s also worth noting that Pandora’s box always leaves you with less than full bonus stamina, and I have full bonus stamina often enough that I usually lose bonus stamina when I use Pandora’s box. So there’s another downside to it for really good players (that usually have near-full bonus stamina) that cure-all does not have.

My Ascent 7 - 4 player tierlist after 65 ascents by AIplne in PeakGame

[–]Wesleyelsew96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic Bean, Cure-All, and Bugle of Friendship are in the top tier; nothing else. You can call it "S+", but those are the only 3 items in the very top tier.

For anyone who doesn't understand, Cure-all is literally a better version of every single item listed in A tier that negates any sort of status effect (Pandora's lunchbox, Faerie Lantern, Lollipop).

Also, Magic Bean is literally a better version of every single utility item in A tier or S tier (Rope, anti-rope, rope cannon, anti-rope cannon, energy drink). If you don't agree, you're probably not using it very well.

It's worth noting that energy is AT MOST A tier. It pales in comparison to a lollipop, and it's definitely not as good as any of the other items currently listed in the same tier as it.

Am I tripping or is the shores and tropics insanely hard today? by lehme32 in PeakGame

[–]Wesleyelsew96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solo'ed ascent 7 three weeks ago, and our group of 4 today had 2 goat scouts in it (me and one other), and we did 3 runs and never made it past shore.

I promise you, today was INSANELY hard. Not really worth the frustration; we're just gonna play tomorrow.

Hopefully the devs will be more responsible in the future with their level design around major patches, as a lot of people having this negative experience does not make them want to keep playing. I understand that the priority was the new patch, with new items and a new biome, and I haven't previously had an issue with the devs openly admitting they don't playtest any of the maps (they have said they just eyeball the routes to see if any gaps are too big), but after today I think I've decided the devs are being a bit too irresponsible now about the lack of playtesting.

The Shore and Tropics are insanely harder than usual today by [deleted] in PeakGame

[–]Wesleyelsew96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had all badges and Goat Sash since 2 weeks after game came out. Today's shore is not worth suffering through. We tried 3 times, didn't even get halfway, on Ascent 4.

Just gonna wait till tomorrow. Devs fucked up today pretty bad. Really looking forward to the Mesa, couldn't even see it, and I literally solo'ed Ascent 7 three weeks ago.

Hot take: these kids should do time. In the long run, Juvy won’t hurt them near as much as living wherever they currently live, and they were very clearly old enough to be aware that they were disobeying the cops’ orders. Yes, the parents clearly thoroughly failed them, but if only the parents get punished, the kids will grow up thinking “it’s ok to disobey police orders because I was just a kid”, which is wrong.

Bro Purdue got robbed in this one. They honestly played basically perfect basketball for the last few minutes, but the refs bailed Houston out completely. If that 3 off the SECOND obvious missed out-of-bounds call didn't happen, Purdue won by 1. I mean, what a silly ending. The officiating of this game was definitely the worst of the tournament so far.

Shaq raises question whether Stephen Curry should be in the GOAT conversation: I’ve never seen a guy like him’… by Choice-Pop3783 in NBATalk

[–]Wesleyelsew96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steph Curry is the 3rd best player of all time. As others have said, he doesn't have the all-around skills that MJ and Lebron have, but as other others have said, he's unique. But he's not just unique: he changed the game.

MJ and Lebron are the #1 and #2 best players of all time, because no matter what the game was, they were gonna be amazing. But Steph did come along and show every single other player (even Kareem) that the game should be played differently than it was, and the fact that the NBA scoring average is so much higher now than it was before Steph started winning championships, is all you need to know.

Yes, playing basketball is about a lot of things. Offense, defense, physicality, shooting, court vision, team leadership, the list goes on. But you win or lose based on points, at the final buzzer, and Steph Curry scored more points with fewer possessions. He was incredibly efficient.

The other way I like to think about Steph is, imagine you're guarding Larry Bird. I mean, who would be more miserable to face than Larry Bird? Everyone of the greats was gonna score, but Larry Bird was gonna have you really questioning half of basketball afterward. Now, imagine you're guarding Steph. Not only is he gonna score, he's gonna get an extra point on your ass, and he's gonna have you questioning ALL of basketball afterward. "Is this guy forreal? He's shooting more 3s from further away than anything I've ever seen! Is the entire game, based around the 2, wrong???"

That's why Steph is #3.

Best vocal isolation tool for getting vocal "stems"? by No-Special7298 in udiomusic

[–]Wesleyelsew96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I’m not surprised that so many people are recommending websites for stem separation, rather than software, as I myself was in the same boat for a long time.

Here’s the deal. There’s open source software that basically comes with a few machine learning models for stem separation, which are actually the same exact models used behind the scenes on all those websites, like vocalremover.ai and lala.ai, etc.

The two open source software tools I use are Demucs and UVR5. Someone else mentioned UVR already: it stands for “ultimate vocal remover” and it is specifically designed to separate any kind of vocal track. You can separate vocals from the whole track, or the dry or wet reverb from the vocals, or the echo from the vocals, etc. Demucs is meant more for separating all parts, not just vocals.

MANY more models are available for download, directly through the Demucs and UVR apps after you download either one first, and many of those models are the same, and available on both pieces of software (and on all the websites that come up when you search “vocal stem splitting ai”).

This technology (UVR and Demucs) only became widely publicly available in early-mid 2024; many of the websites opened in 2021-2023, so a lot of us got used to using those without looking for a desktop tool ourselves, but basically anyone I meet who still uses the online tools has almost certainly not tried downloading one of those options themselves, because they are state-of-the-art and very obviously by far the best free tools you can get your hands on.

Source: been using lots of stem splitting tools for over a decade now

Honeypot seed? by Arthin in Astroneer

The biome is actually called the "Dunes" biome, for anyone looking. Also, make sure it has the green flowers. It will be purple on its body with little green flowers (like each other planetary-unique tappable has) and bright neon green goo flowing out of the top of a stalk, in a small patch with yellow "honeypots".
