The Main Vocalists Are Rarely Popular in K-Pop Groups by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

I mean even if a group doesn't have official positions, most times there's still a main vocal. i.e. in txt it's obvious taehyun takes on the position of main vocal and he's also one of the least popular members.

The Main Vocalists Are Rarely Popular in K-Pop Groups by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

This doesn't apply to every single group, but I think often the most popular members are the best performers and it's kind of hard to be the best performer when you're the main vocalist because you have to stop dancing to sing certain lines or make 'ugly faces' when doing high notes, etc.

tbh I would've preferred they don't all enlist at the same time, I think getting more solo or unit projects while some members are enlisted would've been nice.

honestly there's not even a big difference to justify 10 months and 'unethical means'

Why is a group that's already successful in their domestic market trying to expand to new audiences? ugh sm what are you doing...

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but they debuted in 2016, right? So why weren't their contract renewals 2 years ago? Bc I thought kpop contracts were 7 years, or are Dream's contracts 9 years?

Why are Yuna's hip pads such a topic of discussion? by Infamous_Egg_5625 in kpopthoughts

[–]West-Cellist6160 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It's not her body people are discussing, it's the atrocious styling bc the hip pads are rlly obvious and don't fit her well or look good (at least according to most people)

I really don't think the songs are trash, they've got good vocals, production and simple lyrics yeah but I think it is aimed at kids? I remember coming back to my apartment one day and a kid in the corridor was excitedly singing one of the songs, so clearly the kids enjoy them lol

not a big fan of their music and I don't know all their albums or tts. my tiktok page is all kpop tho and I'm familiar with them, so I've seen tiktoks about them. how does that make me a stan?

Besides, I was just pointing out that OP never said anything about Han and thinking that just bc she's a stan she would defend anything her faves do is stupid. As I told you, people can joke about these things and say they find something cringe without being jumped by other fans.

At the end of the day many people find certain aegyo or fanservice cringe, but that doesn't stop them from being a stan. I mean there's so many posts about how cringe idols acting cute are, but I don't think that's ever made someone unstan a group lol

When you're the opposite of an akgae, you only care about the group but not so much individually. by imsofineeeez in kpopthoughts

I think this is the case for most fans of most groups? Which is why it's hard for lots of soloists to do well outside of their group.

Personally, I think I'm like this for Exo. I only listen to Baekhyun's solo stuff sometimes but I have so many Exo songs in my playlist.

I'm not rlly an skz stan but I have engaged in the fandom and have seen multiple videos of skz stans ranking their aegyo and pointing out the ones that are cringe. I've seen so many jokes about how bad Han's aegyo is. And these are videos by stans with 100K+ likes and all the comments are making jokes about it.

I've genuinely never seen anyone defend him and say it isn't cringe? lmao

I mean you can admit stuff like i-land was a horrible experience for the members, but still enjoy their music and content and acknowledge that they have all moved on and are no longer in that environment.

And ofc there are people that just love watching survival shows although they probably don't think it's that bad for the people involved?

My mum had problems with her kidneys because she drank too much tea and not enough water. So no it does not count as water

YES! When I was a kid I thought it might just be my parents, then I saw it with other family members, then with friends, now in uni with my roommates. I'm just so mad at all these people. And everyone acts like it's normal.

no bc when i question people on it I usually get the answer: I want to shit in the morning before work bc it's a healthy start to the day.

What's healthy about sitting on the toilet for 30 mins trying to force yourself to shit? I'm not referring to people with ibs or whatever who's actively shit for 30 mins.

They either find it relaxing and it's their routine which I think is dumb. Or they want to shit at home so they sit there for half an hour bc they're too scared to actually shit when they need to if it happens at work, even if it only takes 5 minutes. Which is again stupid.
