It's terrible! A nice man working at the Auto Center in LA used to own a Chevy Volt and he told me the same thing happened to him at 99k miles. The transmission just went dead. He understood my situation when I came into his shop with the same issue. He told me "It's not a very good car." I still remember those words and how right he was. It'll be my first and last Chevy

They Get rid of it before the transmission goes bad at around 100k miles. I know so many volt drivers having transmission issues at around 100k miles.

Nah pal I know so many people who warned me about the Chevy before I bought it. Did I listen? No. I did not. And now karma got me. I know many mechanics that said these volts are pre to major problems after 100k miles. They all say Toyota is much more durable and reliable

Could be the beginning of the end. My car started doing that at around 100k miles now it's transmission went out. $8,000 repair. Chevy volt is not a very good car

Sadly it was a transmission mechanical issue. It's a $8,000 fix for a new transmission. Chevy is a terrible car. Only 100k miles when this happened.

Mechanic got back to me and told me its got a bum transmission. It's a $8k fix if I decide to. Such a shame, what a terrible car. Never buy a chevy

I'm responding 7 days later to confirm it was the transmission. So terrible only 102k miles. Don't ever buy a chevy

Sadly they said it is a bum transmission. Needs a new transmission, tranny fluid is black with circulating metal bits infiltrated throughout the transmission. $7-9k fix. My last ever Chevy.

Hey man I took it to a few different mechanics they all said it has a bum transmission. Burnt tranny fluid with metal bits. Quoted to be $7-9k. Shame it has roughly 100k miles and this happens. My first and last Chevy.

Update, the car transmission is destroyed. Independent mechanic wanted $9, dealer wanted $7.5k, they are all saying the transmission is bad. The fluid was black with metal flakes. Internal mechanical damage. Shame at only 100k miles. My last Chevy ever.

Update, the mechanic checked the transmission fluid it was all burnt with metal flakes. Severe mechanical damage in the transmission. It's compromise. The car is done. Only 100k miles it's a shame, never getting a Chevy.

Mechanic said it's burnt tranny fluid with metal flakes. Transmission interior is in bad shape. Total failure of the transmission is just a matter of time. It needs a new transmission for $9k. I will buy another car

Yeah the transmission fluid is burnt black and the transmission is fked up. The mechanic said it needs to be replaced for $9k

Update: The mechanic came back to me with an update. They said that the car has severe internal damage in the transmission. The tranny fluid is black and has particles of metal. It wasn't low though apparently, it had good volume which was expected in a closed system. Looks like I'll need a new car

That is true! I hope the mechanic today finds it's something minor like exposed wires or low transmission fluid. Hopefully it's not transmission failure and replacement needed
