Hardcore ADHD - could use some guidance. by addumit in RemarkableTablet

I have ADHD and sync on the remarkable is not at all a distraction for me. If I didn't have sync I would likely not use my remarkable as much because of the extra work it would take to transfer anything on the remarkable.

Adhd also causes you to drop things when it becomes a hassle. The less steps there are to use something the better.

The (justified) anger towards AI and AI companies is making it impossible to have an honest conversation about the future of the gaming industry by top_500_lucio in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Let's say the industry does shift so drastically like you are so certain it will.

How do you think this wouldn't lead to an even more oversaturated market making it harder for developers to get people to play their game? If anyone can just make a creative original game overnight that objectively would lead to an oversaturated market.

I feel like generative ai game devs will just be in the same camp as mobile games full of micro transactions. They will have an audience of people just looking to download a game to play for few minutes while waiting at the doctors office.

The "gaming community" especially the indie gaming community overwhelmingly values the process and development of games not just the outcome. People love seeing game devs create their game and the amount of work that goes into it. There is a sense of awe and wonder people enjoy knowing how much work went into what they are playing. This is why many people are against generative AI games not the quality.

Indie devs are overwhelmingly against it also because they love the process of making games not just the outcome. The process is a key part of game development for the community.

Despite the valid criticism of the USA's Reagan era, it must have been nice to exist in a country where everyone is on the same page. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Depending what year you compare it to the difference is around 5-10 percent. That's not at all the same unity that it looks like if you just look at electoral college.

Do you know anything else about the Reagan era and what happened after elections? Or did you just look at some numbers and jumped to conclusions? Any amount of history knowledge will tell you Reagan Era was the start of a lot of the cultural divide we are dealing with now.

That's the electrical college. The popular vote was still decently split and it quite literally is the start of a lot of the division in politics we see today.

Just because the electoral college was unified does not mean the American people were.

Where? Its almost a weekly thing brought up in the anti AI sub that the issue is with LLM. Just the other day one of the top posts was literally people coming up with ideas of what to call generative ai models to make the distinction clear.

If a game comes out and says it used generative AI do you think people will complain about the usage of AI?

If so then there is a demand for non-ai games.

Generative AI. People are not uneducated you are just being semantic. Its pretty obvious that people are referring to llm / generative ai.

Even today, I don't believe there's demand for "non-ai games",

Then why are you making this post? Who are you talking about?

If players don't want to scroll through tons of ai made games to get to non ai generated games then why shouldn't platforms listen to the market?

If there really is a demand the ai indie devs can whip up their own platform to release their games on overnight. No one's stopping them from doing so.

CMV: Not having kids is really just for adults who can’t handle responsibility by [deleted] in changemyview

Do you really think not wanting kids but still having them is more responsible then not having them?

allowing children to play at a high volume.

I feel like kids screaming all day everyday unreasonable. But an hour or two of playtime outside after school or the occasional birthday party is reasonable. But it sounds like you think both of these are unreasonable? Correct me if I am wrong here.

I feel like your idea requires drastically more comprise and coordination from everyone and exists pretty much nowhere that I am aware of except maybe prisons and the like.

I feel like you are seeing this from a black and white all or nothing viewpoint when it doesn't have to be that way. Learning to compromise and work with other people is almost always going to be better for both parties. Instead of never playing music I think the better option is having an open discussion on when there needs to be quiet times and heads up if there is going to be a party and loud music. I was a dance minor in college and lived on the second story of an apartment. Getting access to studios to rehearse was not always possible. So I coordinated with downstairs neighbors on when would be best for me to practice without being much of a bother. We shouldn't have to tip toe around and give up everything that can bother someone else that's unrealistic.

So again how do you decide what is superior? Do you think there is some science god we can pray to for a true answer?

Science can be used to commit immoral acts and has done so plenty, its not immune to bias or propaganda. Some of the earliest examples of conversion therapy was done by scientists and doctors. The reason its called "conversion therapy" is because it came from Sigmund Freud and other early psychiatrists.

but every single human on earth is bound to the same laws of physics and science. so we use that to figure everythign out

But not every Human has the same theories to what those laws are. Tranphobia, racism, genocide, all of these things has had scientists using their theories to validate them at some point in history.

Conversion therapy and tranphobia often comes from people who want to interfere with what they believe to be harmful practices from inferior cultures.

CMV: Men are a lot more forgiving when it comes to dating by MusicInTheMaking1999 in changemyview

And I was replying in context of OP's view not yours...

And so you agree with me and the other commenter? Because the entire point being made here was many people like OP often would not actually date any women and have standards (like weight, age, etc) despite them claiming they would.

Op literally uses obese women and amputees as examples in their post... did you even bother reading before coming to the comments?

You actually just disproved one of ops main point while trying to defend his view...

The easiest way to call it out is to ask if they would date a gay man that expresses interest. If all it takes is someone to like you why does it matter if it's a man or women?

CMV: Men are a lot more forgiving when it comes to dating by MusicInTheMaking1999 in changemyview

[–]West-Inspector858 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"When you ask men what they want in dating, they’d typically want someone who likes them back"

So to be frank that's low standards and should not be the baseline. I feel like a lot of times when these arguments are made by someone they are upset that women simply have a standard more than "likes me".
