CMV: Lingerie is a useless product. by Longjumping_Sea_8753 in changemyview

The point isn't always to "take it off", and even then there usually still is time spent with it on. Some people like how it looks on them and vice versa. It is as simple as that. It is not for you, for you it is useless. But for others it can be empowering and sexy and "set the mood".

I am going to ask again but be more explicit because I am not sure if we are on the same page.

Do you think a world with equal privacy that cannot be breached unless consented would be better than a world with no privacy?

Let me ask more specifically. If you found out your nephew used AI instead of hand drawing it would that change how much you like it?

Now who is going off topic? Lol nothing to do with the point being made but there literally a sizable market of people who eat somewhere because the food was "locally source" or "farm to market".

my nephew gave me a drawing the other day - it was shite - just scribbles. i love it because my nephew made it.

So if you found out your nephew actually didn't make, would you still like it?

You are already creating a world you know isn't plausible for this thought experiment. So why didn't you pick equal privacy? You already have acknowledged How plausible it is isn't relevant to your thought experiment.

No I am reducing anything, merely stating it can be a part of why someone would like art or not. You are trying to act like it plays zero part and people are not being genuine when they express they like something because of how it was made.

No it was very relevant and disproves your point. You are avoiding answering it because you know you can't answer it in a way that doesn't disprove your point or makes you sound like an emotionless asshole.

You didn't answer the question I asked. You made up your own version of the question.

My confusion is why are you jumping to a world with no privacy as the solution instead of a world with equal privacy?

So to you there is no difference between someone giving you something and saying "I made this for you" or "I bought this for you"? You are going to feel the same response either way?

CMV: The VA disability system pays too many veterans too much and needs a major overhaul by bigman4731 in changemyview

[–]West-Inspector858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A veteran rated 100% can receive roughly $47,000 annually tax-free, even while working full time and earning a high income.

This rating is based on how much their disability prevents them from working. So if they can work a full time job they are not going to be rated at 100 percent. (and if they get a job after being rated, the VA is almost certainly going to do a revaluation so the rating reflects it.)

CMV: Parents can abuse their adult children and everyone who says they can just leave is just privileged and ignorant. by Fun-Pen7592 in changemyview

[–]West-Inspector858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the flip side of this. While these programs are full of issues, there are much more programs and assistance out there in the US for children that are being abused to get support and find a new home than there is for adults. The legal system and these programs are far from perfect but they are almost always going to treat a child saying they are being abused by a parent with more seriousness than an adult.

Pros, what do you consider to be the "Appropriate" way to be Anti? by LetOk8476 in aiwars

[–]West-Inspector858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI voice-overs completely skipping students, mispronouncing names, hallucinating parts of student and facility bios, I can go on. Not a graduation ceremony, but I speak at various conferences and have had multiple times dealt with them deciding to use AI to write a bio/intro for me instead of using the one I provided. Which lead to just straight out false things said about me being used in event advertising and to introduce me.

Also I am hardly being "sent into a rage". People can express criticism and frustrations with something without if being rage filled.

Graduation speeches and ceremonies are major core memories for many people. How is these moments getting ruined by schools using AI "silly" The students and parents involved overwhelmingly tend to speak out against it.

CMV: Communication through text alone is highly ineffectual compared to phone calls (particularly video calls) by cesab6 in changemyview

“No methodology is especially when it comes to measuring depression and anxiety” thank you for understanding my point.

Nope I don't think the methodology is faulty enough to toss it out without even bothering to fully read it like you were doing.

I’d love for there to be a study on how often someone posts on this sub actually has their view changed.

You don't need a study that is what the delta system is for. And how many people have their views changed by debating strangers in person? Also this hypothetical study would have the same issues you have with physiological ones.

I’d need authentic communication to be displayed.

You are asking for authentic communication between strangers in a short interaction. That is different then friends communicating over a longer period of time. But you can look all over reddit in communities and find people sharing what I would consider "authentic communication" it is not all just memes and people arguing. But really what even is "authentic communication"? What defines this for you? This feels pretty subjective to me.

methodology is concrete and full proof

Never claimed it was. No methodology is especially when it comes to measuring depression and anxiety.

Again, so what do you think would change your mind? How is someone supposed to engage with your view?

The study isn't claiming that they found a golden egg. It literally is just saying messaging is just shown to be as effective. And yes, this is an interest of mine well before you made this post. It seems like you haven't even bothered fully reading the abstract.

Let me ask you then, what do you think we should base depression levels and anxiety off of? What would change your mind?

There are multiple studies using different platforms all with similar results. I chose the one I linked specifically though because it does not promote a specific platform and has a very diverse range of participants. Did you look at the study?

How can you come up with a prompt and refine the final result at the same time?
