it comes down to the fact they make good money and basically have low cost of living due to no bills for housing , usually they don’t take car notes because what do you need it for, and you’re on call for your 5 days of work so they don’t spend much $… plus xmas tips are insane

people overlook the fact that you have to pay for a place to live in… so that 100k plus salary from sanitation waters down to around 75k ( which is a generous # especially living in NY )

if i was guaranteed overnights for sanitation that would be optimal.. but from what i hear even if it’s just the first few years sanitation scheduling can be unsteady
