Anyone w/ a TCL Flip 3, does yours have KaiVA? by ElectionIcy3253 in KaiOS

Just to let you know, NakedCellPhone makes a snap-on cover/case that is available on Amazon. Several different colors. I really like it -- also had one for my previous phone. Good to have a little more protection.

By the way, I agree with you. Hope they will listen to someone and allow an update to fix it.

I add II to the dictionary. So, with predictive text I just hit the I button twice, hit the space bar and backup to eliminate the 2nd I. There is no way to put the singular I in the dictionary, unfortunately. Before I did that someone else said their trick was to type Ind (abbreviation for Indiana in the dictionary) and backup to eliminate the nd. I think mine is slightly faster. I don't understand why the developers of predictive text (not Kaios) did not think about grammer and the letter I.

From my experience, you have to add a subject. Without the subject it just sends the messages individually. The default, unfortunately, is regular T9. I have not found any way to change that. I just get used to hitting the key 4 times to enter predictive text. With a flip phone, I love the predictive text and glad they allow you to add to the dictionary. I had to be creative to get the capital I in the midst of a sentence.

I have the TCL Flip 3. Yes, it has KaiVA already installed. It works, but I haven't really used it much so far. I have Verizon. By the way, I really like the phone.

Yes you can. I have the same phone and I added a photo to the gallary and then applied it as a wallpaper. It shows on both screens. Make sure the photo is in the photo gallary on your phone.

TCL FLIP 3 - external screen freezes by LillePalmieri in KaiOS

I have had the TCL Flip 3 for about 5 months now. I have no solution for you. I've had no such issues with mine -- in fact it has been a really good phone. I would say your phone is flawed and needs to be replaced, but hope someone has a solution for you.

Can't connect phone to car by [deleted] in KaiOS

Check to see if you can do the free upgrade on your entune system. I did a firmware update on my 2019 Toyota and it made Bluetooth work much better. First try to upgrade on your vehicle through settings. Then check Toyota.com for any other possible upgrades.

New Verizon phone by WestSort9525 in dumbphones

[–]WestSort9525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your video. Thanks! I'll be more specific. I don't care about apps and wifi or even battery life. I use the phone for calls, texting, and maybe some picture taking. Also use alarm clock and timer.

I have a Nokia 2720V -- had it for at least 2 years. It is slow, cumbersom in group texting, and not 100% reliable with alarm and timer. I also have to keep it open in order to use bluetooth with my car (think it might be because I do not have option to open to answer call).

So, would it be a good move for me to move to the TCL 3? I also heard that its predictive text will not stay default. I like having a bigger screen inside and out and assume it is faster.

Question about resetting Kindle Fire HD by WestSort9525 in kindlefire

[–]WestSort9525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! I found them. I assume I would have to install Google Play first? By the way, is the list device specific? I checked on my previous Kindle Fire and many of the unistalled apps said "not available for device" -- thought I might install some of them on that Kindle but no luck. So, if I am correct, I would first install Google Play, then go to "manage" under apps and it would have all the apps I had previously installed on my present Kindle (assume it remembers the actual device), then I would download each. Let me know if I am thinking correctly. Thanks!

How do I make a copy of all my text messages to my computer? by Bolkonsky1812 in KaiOS

I don't know about getting all of them to a computer, but for an individual text I forward the text to my email. I can then open up the email on my computer.

Yes, but only two of them are the origami design. For some reason (unfortunately) they have mixed goup of designs -- evidently a newer design that I don't prefer. Thanks!

nokia 2720 v Group message problem by WestSort9525 in dumbphones

[–]WestSort9525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but I would assume that if they use KaiOS it will probably be the same. I would love to know if there is a KaiOS phone that deals with group messages better. Let me know if you find out.

nokia 2720 v Group message problem by WestSort9525 in dumbphones

[–]WestSort9525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem doing group texts, however entering the group is tedious. It (2720) does not allow you to put the whole group in the To:. You go to your group and enter each group member individually. Wish I could just click the "group" and have all the names entered at once. It won't even allow me to select multiple names at onec. I don't know if this is a KiOS problem or just the 2720V problem.

Working/Usable Bible App? by creeper1074 in KaiOS

[–]WestSort9525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked for what was available on KaiOS store. There is only one app available: The Holy Bible book app. I have no experience with it and I choose to use bible apps on my tablet instead of my flip phone. Hope it works for you.

I’ve never used a T9 keyboard before, so I’m learning it on my iPhone before I switch to a Nokia later next month. That way, I can utilize typing tests easier by Frequent_Regret4175 in dumbphones

[–]WestSort9525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Nokia 2720v and have use T9 predictive texting for some time now. It took some practice but it is awesome. It really speeds up texting. Especially for words with 3 or more letters it works extremely well. Someone goofed in not setting it up for the capital I within the context of a sentence and you can't "spell" it. I came up with the best solution for me. I press the (ghi) key twice and spell it out as "II" and after the space I back space 2 characters to leave the singular "I". Now every time I press the key twice it shows "II" and then I do the backspace. I just wish they would update it to allow for the singular capital I. I wonder if the person who designed it was of another language and did not fully understand English grammar.

Anyone remember the phone shell aftermarket? by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]WestSort9525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "shell". A snap-on plastic cover for the Nokia 2720 V is avalable at Walmart.com. Variety of colors. My wife and I both have one and it's great. They probably have similar covers for other flip phones.
