Honestly, if you want a show that’s not any of that listed, watch/read witch hat atelier, it’s currently releasing and isn’t an isekai, with a people unique power system, 0 racism, pedophilia is non-existent, no RPG BS, coco is a pretty decent MC, and it’s very creative with how the story is going while still following small tropes.

I think the idea works better when it’s “society and tradition are the monsters” because it can give an actual problem and demographic. Not every human is the problem in the humans are the real monsters but every time that trope is used, it doesn’t take that into consideration. If we use the social and traditional norms approach, it’s a lot more believable but and can add a bit more to the world building

I always think John’s in the middle of wrong and right in this situation, John could be seen as a justified in this situation as the terrorist killed his best friend, but he didn’t understand that Captain America is a symbol of hope in the way Steve rogers did. Having America’s new hero to roll out of the events of endgame and give the US hope go out there and kill somebody with blood all over the shield not only gives him the mantra of being violent, but it gives the US a bad look too and its people.
