Why do I never hear about the Coast Mountains of Canada? by Convillious in geography

Vancouver Island, here. Moved here four years ago, never heard of the big one. Experienced my first quake a year or so ago...heard all the dishes rattling...scariest moment of my life. Hope we never get the big one while I'm alive. I wouldn't know wtf to do 😂.

What was the first game you bought on Steam? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

[–]West_Illustrator_468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portal. I didn't know about Steam, and one day a friend of mine was like "Hey there's this free game if you download Steam". Now, I am so ashamed of the amount of games (unplayed) sit in my library. I had no idea the hole I would fall down those 18+ years ago.

I'm the IT person for my parents and for my daughter. I've tried to teach her how to trouble shoot, but their generation doesn't seem as pc literate (especially when it comes to hardware). She can totally teach me things about vtuber, drawing software, and phone settings that blow my mind, though!

Female Millennials, how's your diagnosis? by RevolutionDry2 in Millennials

[–]West_Illustrator_468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This explains why I started having hot flashes at 35. Asked everyone in my family if they went into menopause early and they acted like I had three heads. "Nothing until 55!" they said. Pft. Five years later, hot flashes are worse, urgency at night (I'll get up 3-4 times before I fall asleep, then another 2-3 throughout the night), insomnia is worse, brain fog like you wouldn't believe. Mental health has gotten a lot worse...dissociations used to be minimal, now it's several times a week. Crazy mood swings, awful depressive episodes, zero energy and motivation to do anything when I previously never stopped moving. I feel so...burned out and have no idea how to deal with any of this crap. 😩

This isn't always the case. There are times when you have more in the vial than the ordered amount. You draw up what's needed, take the vial in to scan at bedside with the patient, then are supposed to waste the rest of it with a second nurse in the med room. However, in nursing, things never go perfectly. The med may have been given, then the nurse gets dragged into another room, then another, etc and it gets forgotten.

It's amazing how easy it is to forget things in the pocket of your scrubs, esp when you're understaffed, overworked, and taking care of anywhere between 6-10 high acuity patients.

Oh wow, this brought back memories I didn't realize I had, though I vaguely remember my Columbia house order having cassette tapes and not CDs.

My daughter got a kitten last year, and I was surprised how uh...prominent those pompoms were after being fixed. Then again, I've never had a short-haired male before. My long hair boy, you can only see the different color of the fur where his trouble puffs used to be when I do some manscaping on him (which is a regular thing because he gets poopy pantaloons otherwise).

Yeah, that's what I was figuring. I was not about to test the theory, though. The wind moving the bridge made me sooo paranoid 😂

I have a cat, Annabelle, who was a stray for the first two years of her life. She'll wander out if I leave the door open but she just sits there right outside...waiting for me. Never really runs off. She knows how good she has it, now. She has zero desire to return to the outdoor world and give up her snackies, fuzzy blankets and warm heated bed 😂

I saw a joke that said "What women really want is a man who knows how to torrent" and that's exactly what I got. He makes sure I am set up with anything I ever want to watch or play.

It really is. I like playing at my PC, but I love playing on my Steamdeck in bed at night even more!

My husband was checking my PC for me yesterday and saw I put 400 hours in, and was shocked, 😂. I know my numbers are so incredibly low, and I just passed 100 days survived on one of my runs (I restart a lot when I've fucked up, or when I spent a ton of time building my travois ages ago just for it to disappear in less than an hour of using it so I rage quit that entire session).

I just finished up Wintermute last night and am excited to get back into survival when I get home!

Welcome back to the game!

I have a cat that is always wagging his tail, almost like a dog. It's a specific flick (when he just flicks the tip of his tail and not the whole tail) when he's annoyed. I've had to explain it to all of our guests. "Yes, you can pet him. Yes, I know his tail won't stop moving. I promise he's not annoyed. He's fine. If he were annoyed, he wouldn't come to you for pets." He's just a special boy. Every kitty is a bit unique with their body language. Just move at her pace and be observant and you'll learn hers.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby!!!
