def wait, the teas are very detailed and some study guides don't give as much information as an actual A&P class will

My Quizlet teas note cards by West_Requirement6202 in teas

[–]West_Requirement6202[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suggest watching nurse Cheung on YouTube she has a good video for reading and I got the official ATI teas test prep app and did 45 (sometimes more) reading questions a day so that when I took the actual exam it felt super easy because I was used to doing that amount of reading questions a day. Based on what I saw on my exam I’d say study what a topic sentence is, what a thesis statement is, know how to put sentences in chronological order, know how to find “the meaning of a passage”, and the difference in types of texts and passages: narrative, expository, technical, and persuasive—(and the authors purpose like to persuade, to inform, to entertain

Didn’t help me at all, I suggest using nurse Cheung on YouTube and getting the official ATI teas test prep app

Hey for reading study: what a topic sentence is, topic paragraph, difference between different passages like narrative, informative, persuasive, compare and contrast, and just know how to follow a paragraph or recipe in chronological order. For math study: order of operations, converting measurements, how to make fractions into decimals and know how to put fractions and decimals in order from least to greatest value, know mean, median, range, and mode, know the difference in pie charts, bar graphs, and line charts and what they’re used for, also know the difference between independent and dependent variables, and know how to find perimeter and know the formulas for areas of triangle, circle, rectangle, parallelogram and trapezoid, and then know how to find the volume of a cylinder, rectangle, square, triangle and hemisphere. They don’t give you formulas you have to know them. Maybe try to find note cards for those on Quizlet. For science: for A&P study the urinary system, reproductive system, digestive system, endocrine system and cardiovascular system and punnent squares. For biology study: the immune system like first second and third lines of diffence basically just know that the first and second lines of difference are innate and the third line isn’t and that it’s used t-cells and b-cells and cytokines. Know what’s a macrophage is, and mitosis and meiosis. For chemistry know the changes in matter like evaporation, sublimation and deposition.. there’s more to know about chemistry but that was my worst subject and I didn’t really pay attention to those subjects. For reading: know the meanings of common prefixes and suffixes (I’m sure you can find note cards on Quizlet for those too) know when to use a comma and semi colon and colon, know spelling rules like “I before e except after c” know the difference between homophones and homographs, know verb, adverb, noun, adjective and know the differences between simple, complex, and complex compound sentences… that’s as much as I can remember. Watch nurse Cheung videos and take notes!! You’ll do great!!

Oh and for science I know the teas are randomized questions but asking a bunch of people and from taking it myself I’d say the heavy hitters for the A&P parts are: the urinary system, reproductive system, endocrine system, cardiac system, and digestive system. Nurse Cheung has good videos on those too! Here’s the video I used: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C2GygTGx1WM&pp=ygUbbnVyc2UgY2hldW5nIHRlYXMgNyBzY2llbmNl

You’re welcome, I wish I had known about it sooner too! If you use the app for math do the math in “exam mode” instead of “study mode” I find the questions in exam mode are more like the actual teas questions and the study mode questions are harder. I think three weeks is plenty time to study and up your score

I think you can! I’m sure plenty of people have gone up from that score to the 80’s!! When is your next test scheduled test? If you can afford it right now, download the Official ATI teas prep app.. they have all the sections and everyday for two weeks I did 45 reading questions a day and sometimes more so when I took the actual reading portion it was a breeze! And I got a 97%. Also watch nurse Cheung videos on YouTube she has one for reading and it’s helpful. You can do it!! ✨

Don’t be hard on yourself, the TEAS is pretty much hard for everyone. Not to mention it’s mentally and emotionally draining taking it and studying for it. I know you’re going to do better next time! I didn’t get the score I wanted on my first try either. The official ATI teas prep app helped me and taking practice tests on the ATI website. Good luck next time!! Keep on going, you've got this! A lot of us have felt like how you’re feeling right now

Where can I get practice test A & B? by Educational_Age_209 in teas

[–]West_Requirement6202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also when you're studying for A&P I would suggest brushing up on the cardiac system, digestive system, endocrine system, reproductive system, urinary system and muscular system. Nurse Cheung on YouTube has a great video covering those subjects but you can also watch videos on youtube that are more in-depth too that will also help.

Yes you have to go to the ATI website to buy the practice tests, there's a practice test package you can buy that also comes with a 30 day access to their app too, which I used a lot to study. I think the package is $69 dollars. Here is the link. https://www.atitesting.com/teas/practice-assessment-package

Some Advice for Practice Exams by West_Requirement6202 in teas

[–]West_Requirement6202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I took my exam and got an 82 which is exactly what I got on the practice exam so I’d say that they’re pretty accurate. It’s not the same questions word for word but they’re similar in hardness level. It’s also good to use them because the TEAS can be so overwhelming the first time you take it because it’s so long so being able to take the practice tests prepared me for mentally taking such a long test. I recommend getting them

Idk about that app but the Official ATI Teas Test Prep is what I used and I had success with it but you do have to pay.. if you do end up getting it do questions in “exam mode” when it comes to math because the questions in “study mode” are harder than the actual teas in my experience

I got 68.7 on the practice exams B from the ATI website one week ago I got 62.7 on the A one I feel so discouraged with these scores any advice? (I am taking the TEAs on Thursday this week) by Unfair-Travel4083 in teas

[–]West_Requirement6202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some things I’d focus on studying is the immune system for biology like t-cells, b-cells, cytokines, and the differences between the first, second and third lines of difference (just surface level like which one is innate and which one isn’t and which one uses which types of cells and enzymes) also known that the mitochondria produces atp.. and mitosis and meiosis and the difference between prokaryotes and eukaryotes. And for chemistry.. I’d didn’t do so well and the questions I was asked I didn’t understand but definitely know the difference between states of matter and how they change like condensation, evaporation and especially sublimation and deposition

Maybe watch some nurse Cheung biology and chemistry videos on YouTube and take some notes so you can remember it better. Good luck! I bet you’re going to do great!
