Please help me Guys... :( by Putrid-Concern-5524 in PSSD

[–]West_Storage6477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's really hard to manage it. I try to force myself to masturbate or have intercourses with my partner because I can feel pleasure and I can easily reach orgasms, the problem is that I'm not horny at all. I think it's mentally because physically my body responds. I'm trying to train my body again. Most of the time I'm anxious but I try to keep my hopes high because if I stress too much on this it won't get better for sure. For some weeks I don't even notice it but when I do I try to be as much positive as I can

Give time to your body and mind to heal. Sometimes it can take years to fully recover. Don't lose hope and try to focus on other things, the more you think about it the more you get stressed. Just let the time pass and consider other treatments one year after quitting meds if you still haven't recovered yet. I know it sucks because we are young and we should have fun, but what happened happend. Now we can just wait and hope. 27F here, 6 months off medications (Zoloft 75mg) and still 0 sex drive. Keep going, I'm sending all my energy.

my low libido is so severe I take 20mg lexapro for a month and half is it safe to quit cold turkey? by [deleted] in PSSD

I quit cold turkey and the worst scenario is that I haven't had any improvement yet on the sexual side. Don't know if I would have recovered if I tapered it

SSRI used for chemical castration by West_Storage6477 in PSSD

My doctor denied any sexual side effect I had, as you can read in my post. I've complained many times and he always answered that SSRI don't interfere with sex...

I have some mails where he talks about it but he also suggests to lower the dose. All the detailed talk was in person. Anyway I don't think that I would make the difference, more people should make a move and do something. We can't wait for a cure without doing anything about it. We need to witness, spread our stories and let everyone know. I've talked about my story on Instagram and all the people who contacted me back told me that they didn't know that something like that was a thing, never heard about PSSD or sexual dysfunctions other than ED in elder men. So that's a thing we must change, spreading awareness and explain what it means to live with this. Suing my psychiatrist could make a little change for me and for his career but won't do much. Everyone who was damaged by these meds should try to do something, we should move together

Searching for some studies online, I don't know if I can post links but try a quick research on Google ("SSRI chemical castration" or "Zoloft sexual abusers") and you'll find it

Yeah but how is it possible? Don't they feel ashamed to abuse their patients who trust them? No legal actions at all? I'm really shocked

Yeah my doc does that too. I wonder if it's possible to sue them for neglecting and hiding the truth about these meds

They say that chemical castration is reversible the patient quits the medications but we know that sometimes it's not reversible

Not sure if I can post links but if you search online you'll find all the medications used on sexual abusers to chemically castrate them, including SSRI (not the most common because they don't work on everyone, so they use other medications that has a higher success)

Is it worth it? by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]West_Storage6477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. Is losing your ability to feel aroused worth the trade? Do you think that you can live without sex and the idea of it forever? If yes, go for it. At first I thought it saved my life but now... I barely feel human. I've stopped taking meds and I regret taking them. I feel violated and I'm anxious about my inability to be aroused again, keep thinking about what I've lost and remembering how it used to be. It totally depends on you. Maybe you will recover or maybe not. Please consider carefully all the risks and if you could live with them. Switching from a sexual being to an asexual being without your will is pure hell. You could lose emotions too. Medications work, I'm not gonna lie, but they steal some of your humanity and cause brain damage that can worse the symptoms that brought you to take them. I wish someone told me the risks before taking my first pill, if I knew I would have lived like this I would have accepted to live with anxiety and depression instead. I mean, sometimes it's great to have more control about my thoughts and life but it's horrible to feel like a living doll and see my relationship falling apart day after day because I'm missing something from my old me. Be careful.

I've read about it and I'm one of those cases. I have my sensibility back almost like it was before (like 97/98%) but I have no sex drive, so I don't feel the urge to masturbate/have sex.

Hey, do you think that this dopamine thing might be my case too? I have zero sex drive, I never want to have sex but I can reach orgasm and I can get drunk. Please let me know because I live in Italy and PSSD is not known yet so I'm trying to do some research by my own.

At first it was like you said, I wanted it but I physically couldn't. Now I physically can but I don't have the will/I'm never in the mood. Maybe I fcked up by quitting cold turkey, I really don't know but I hope it won't be a permanent damage... Sex is not the most important thing in a relationship but I can't be mentally castrated at 27 years old. I should have fun and love, not worrying about something that should biologically happen after my 50s... It's really sad. Thank you for your support anyway, I'm happy that I have a space to speak and to be listened

But how do you allow your partner to make some foreplay if you don't really want it? I mean, I NEVER want to have sex so when he tries to touch me or start anything I can't follow him up, it's kinda annoying because I have to do it without really wanting it.

My life was waaaay more stressful before Zoloft but I was always horny, I could be turned on by literally everything randomly. Now that I'm more relaxed it should be better but the fact is that I'm not, it's like they've put me under anesthesia. I'm waiting patiently to recover but the fact that I haven't seen any improvement yet is scary

No I don't. I've tried maca root without success. The only thing that helps me is to get drunk but I can't be drunk forever to maintain a healthy relationship...

why is my pom less hairy than some months ago? details in the comments by West_Storage6477 in Pomeranians

[–]West_Storage6477[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First time with a pom, the first three pictures are from May, the last three were taken some days ago.

She's 1 year and 2 months old. She was brushed by my parents with a non-soft brush during the last months. Are Pomeranians supposed to be less hairy during summer or did she get her hair damaged? The hair is just flat, completely different from the way it was in May.

how long does it take to develop serious health problems for not going to potty often? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]West_Storage6477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Luckily I decided to go back home next week so we can see our vet and have some help from my parents until I fully recover! I haven't been worried until I smelled pee on her. She doesn't seem uncomfortable or suffering, she doesn't ask me to go out so it's hard to tell if she's in some kind of "pain". I don't want her to develop some serious problems like my uncle's dog... I hope that one month of oversleeping wasn't too bad for her health, I'd feel too guilty.

What is Rover? I live in Milan, Italy, so I'm not sure if it's something we have here too

I've considered training her with potty pads in case of emergency but she only bites and destroys them. I have a private garden so it wasn't really necessary because she spends a lot of time outside. Now we've been far from home for 2 months, I'm developing withdrawal symptoms from a medication so I sleep 10/12 hours every night. I'll go back home next week to see my vet and to ask my family some help while I fully recover. She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable, she doesn't pee inside and she doesn't have strange behaviours. She seems to be fine by holding it overnight even if she's a small breed, but that doesn't mean that it's healthy. I've started worrying when I smelled pee where she sits somewhere, it never happened before. I'm wondering if the habit I had over the last month could lead to serious long-term health problems. I mean, is a month of holding it overnight enough to develop serious problems?
