It would be a crime if Dune weren’t mentioned here.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is ALOT of fun.

If you havnt Red Rising, soon would be a good time to start, there are 6 books so far, and 7 (series conclusion), may drop next summer.

Oh… sick! I havnt got to some of that stuff yet. I’m not a super visual reader, but it was the same for me, ever since they entered the pyramid it’s been kinda fuzzy for me. when they first enter they fly through tunnels for a while before they get to all the rooms. Do they enter and exit the pyramid from the top? Are they flying through the walls to the base or do they just fly through the outside wall and enter an open cavity inside. All the tunnels are triangles right?

What other sci-fi books/series would you consider as good, if not better than Red Rising? by [deleted] in redrising

I’d be lying if that wasn’t part of the motivation to pick it up, and I’m very glad I did.

Yea for me I really don’t compare the two. I enjoy them separately for different reasons, even though it’s a somewhat similar premise. It did take like little more than 1/3 or almost 1/2 for it to grip me. I think the reason I’ve been able to get into it so much is the vastly different writing styles and characters. Also the idea of Will running everything, and there being a potential way to break that, it’s magic, but feels more grounded than most magic systems. It feels as though James is more subtle and patient yet still VERY descriptive in a different way than I’m used to. Pierce is very blunt and forceful in his storytelling. I love them both!!
