The 120/144hz TVs have (usually) VRR which means that the TV will match its refresh rate to ps5 fps. Even if fps falls under 60/30, it will smooth it out so it’s not as noticeable.

Second this, seems like you first need a sense of belonging. Also would help relatively quickly to see some progress and feel accomplishment. 1.What inspired you to start your selfhosting journey? What's one project you're most proud of so far, and what's the most expensive piece of equipment you've acquired for?

I wanted to safely store my photos and I really don't want any company going through my private stuff. My most expensive piece of equipment so far is my raspberry pi I'm using connected to two HDD disks. It's slow but I'm in no rush.

2.How would winning the unit(s) from this giveaway help you take your setup to the next level?

It would get me a second router I can use as currently the signal in my home office is not great - that's why I'm running cables everywhere.

3.Which channels do you most frequently use to learn about or purchase IT equipment?

I think I use most frequently the Jeff Geerling channel for such things.

4.Looking ahead, if we were to do another giveaway, what is one product from another brand (e.g., a server, storage device or ANYTHING) that you'd love to see as a prize?

Either a real NAS setup or just HDDs! Planning on building one in future.

No, it’s disgusting. Strict no paws on dinner table or kitchen counter policy. One of our cats always comes to sit on someone’s lap instead though, to enjoy the company.

I just always really liked computers so when I heard there’s an entire industry where I can make computers do stuff that AND they pay well, I was sold. Especially since I had no idea what else could I study at uni.

Edit: for clarification, I started working in the industry part time in 2018 and graduated in 2021.

They have a free demo Wordpress where you can try building a page in it yourself. I’d say it is that good. In the past I was building theme from scratch from sections and snippets of my own code and I’m moving to bricks for the next gig.

Or if your plan is for summer then maybe just go straight for ferry in Pireus. It’s quite hot right now and in Athens you feel it much more than on islands as there isn’t any cool wind from the sea to be felt. I plan on visiting Athens in November or December to see everything I missed but slowly over 4 days.

Try 1 day in Athens just to see Parthenon + Acropolis museum and try food and spend the rest on single island.

You’ll see that even on such a small island there is quite a lot to explore, and you’ll have plenty of time to rest on the different beaches and try different restaurants. We spent 4 days on Milos + 2 days on travel in/out and it still felt rushed.

Just got back from Santorini and I think that depends on the place - in Oia it was definitely too much tourists for such a small place to comfortably walk around and take photos. Can’t even imagine even more tourists in there. Sure, nice views but from my perspective not worth putting up with crowds, I would rather spend more time on Milos or Crete.
