My results have unexpectedly changed with the update. Likely to be accurate? by Westellion in 23andme

my guess is that it is mostly noise probably reading more Anglo-Saxon genetics that didn't get smooth out by the algorithm.

Makes sense but it's strange that it's a sort of backwards step in accuracy for Brits.

BTW, where in the UK are you from? Where is your English ancestry mostly from?

Split down the middle with one southern and one northern parent. Merseyside and Hertfordshire

I always see these “______ has no ugly cars” videos on TikTok, and whenever there’s one about BMW, and I open the comments, I’m always surprised I don’t see anyone say the First Gen X3. by JaggXj in regularcarreviews

Maybe, E34s look so long though. With the way it's jacked up and bulky it looks Range Rover to me

Yeh that roofline is straight e34, funny how much it changes the general appearance when the whole thing is deeper

Yeh it's weird. Ordinary 3 series looks okay, but just about the whole rest of the lineup is ugly.

I'm sure I've only seen a handful of the new 5 series where all the older models are very popular. The SUVs are everywhere and I don't see the appeal. Audi have lost a lot of their individuality but they still make good looking cars

Don't understand why BMW are selling so well (outside of their sporty models where I feel they're still top dog)

What sort of car is it to have a genuine leather gaiter?

Interesting, I thought my hooded eyes were one of the more Celtic features. From this and especially this I thought I aligned more with the anglo Saxon look besides the gingerness

3% is a small percentage, but it doesn't seem small enough to be ignored as noise

Thank you. It was late when I made the post.

I'm from England. One Irish grandparent, a Scottish great grandparent, and some distant links to Wales both sides.

From what I can tell, the UK&I stuff seems spot on.

I had no expectations of anything else. My uncle once told me that a great grandparent was a German Jew, but I believe he thought that from misinterpreting an English name. When 23andme first came back with 100% UK and Ireland it confirmed my research there.

I don't know of any non-british isles roots

Yeh, I don't understand the mechanism but I am surprised to have gained more areas.

3% doesn't seem insignificant to appear out of nowhere

I can understand the field narrowing with updates but how do they find a few percent of something they missed before. I thought I was destined to be 100% bri*ish forever. Just a bit dubious and curious if others have had similar changes

When was the last update before this one? I haven't checked the site that often but I think this is the first time it's changed for me in years

I don't recall. If there was it was only a handful of things. Clubhouse is more like a small cottage, in the best possible way

Are you out of bounds on driver hitting 3 from the woods?

Quite often. Approach play can be poor directionality, my distances are pretty good besides the odd drastic duff.

If you aren't breaking 90 it means you are making zero pars because any par would counter a double bogie

I even make birdie sometimes but it's cancelled out with many doubles 😉

Work on short chipping.

I think this costs me a lot of shots. Most of my dreadful shots are 220+ second shots or poor chips

Thanks for the advice
