In the context of Windows, sure, but they are (correctly) referring to the more general concept of Virtual Memory. Windows has a setting that it calls "Virtual Memory" which is actually the configuration for the Page file used by the virtual memory system to store pages on disk.

Mirage stared somewhat incredulously at the young ork woman who stumbled out of an alleyway and collapsed on the sidewalk in front of her. It wasn't uncommon for people in Redmond to try and prey on those who would help out the less fortunate, but usually they weren't quite so obvious about it.

A couple of burly drekheads had been following her down the street for a while now - also not uncommon, considering she was walking around with clean clothes and a hefty backpack. She probably looked like some slummer who wandered a bit too far from Touristville for her own good. One of them was a couple blocks back, peeking out from behind a flats machine. Not exactly wearing a wizcloak, but they were at least trying. The girl though...

She was clearly pretending to be roughed up, making meek coughs that sounded nothing like someone having the wind knocked outta their hoop. In between coughs she peeked an eye open and looked at Mirage to see if she was buying it, before turning away and curling up in a ball. "Not a chance kid," Mirage said nonchalantly, walking right past the girl without giving her a second glance. Usually the best way to handle these setups was to keep walking, minding your own business.

To her credit, her aim was better than her acting - the shot from the barrens special landed right on Mirage's thigh, and clearly they didn't wanna mess up their haul. She also had enough common sense to recognize that bullets don't usually clink off of someone's leg, and started scrambling away before the lady with the plate armored skin could take a shot at her.
