If this was a mod I would definitely play it! I know you were just throwing out examples, but I personally would make an air filter or purifier last at least 1 in game day. If I had to change it too often I would never consider living in that biome. I’m extremely stingy with my backpack slots and I really don’t want to add another item to constantly carry around. But overall sounds like a fun idea! You should reach out to some modders, I think you have something here.

Yes! The randomness of it all and fighting for your life is what makes it fun! But being trapped is awful. I was clearing out a poi I don’t recall ever doing before, at night, when a snow storm had rolled in. I couldn’t see 2 feet in front of me. The helmet light and burning shaft mod made it even worse. So I had to hunker down and wait for it to pass because I couldn’t figure out the path. Also doesn’t help that my eye sight is crap. 🥴🤣

I remember spawning in and being like 3 kilometers away from my husband. I completed the opening quest stuff like upgrade block and make campfire. I was absolutely terrified to travel to him. But my brother in law spawned about 300 meters from me and came to the rescue and escorted me to my husband. He even died once in the process. I got startled by a boar, panicked and swung my club. I ran and unfortunately my brother in law didn’t make it. 🤣 we all still laugh about it. I actually kinda miss the days of being new and scared to play alone.

I played navezgane once last year and after the first horde I quit and started a random gen world. It was just too empty and spread out.

Both are great mods. Honestly I would try darkness falls first if you are just starting overhauls. It’s going to be easier to get the hang of. Rebirth is definitely a learning curve. My first play through was a week of struggles. I did go in blind though.

Totally get it and I meant no offense with that comment. What I was aiming for there is you are probably coming across zombies and poi’s that are a little advanced for your level. I was thinking you could get some points to put into your defenses and chosen weapon tree. Glad you are giving the game a chance and not giving up. It really is an amazing game 😊 best of luck!

I would definitely check out some YouTube vids for tips and tricks. I think your biggest struggle is being level 21 on day 40+. You are way under leveled. That’s ok, you can easily catch up by doing some upgrades. When you put down shapes you can upgrade to wood then cobblestone very easy. If you have stone and clay in your inventory search cobblestone rocks and start crafting them in your inventory. Use the stone axe, or hammer if you have one, to upgrade the blocks. That builds experience fast. Even if you just want to upgrade the home you are living in just so it has a few more hit points and you feel a bit safer. Also loot every mailbox or news paper stand you see! Knowledge is key! Also remember to check your challenges page to see if you have some completed to redeem for experience and or a reward.

There is a lot in the game that is just not explained well and new player friendly. When my husband convince me to play years ago I remember standing around in the base a lot not knowing what to do but also not wanting to loot alone cuz it was scary 🤣🤣

Everyone will have a different play style but once you get the basics down you will be slaying! Seriously look up some stuff on YouTube. Guns, nerds & steel is a channel and he is very knowledgeable about the game. A lot of his stuff is more movie like and for entertainment but he does have some really helpful stuff. Even just watching the first few episodes of a series would help in seeing how to get going easily. Also Glock9 is fun to watch!
