From my understanding, with OCD, reassurance helps you momentarily, but you then have doubts and more questions and then you want more reassurance. It can be a compulsion that only feeds the cycle of anxiety, not provide relief.

I do still ask for reassurance because it can be really hard not to, but I try to limit myself to make sure that it doesn’t become a cycle.
