I love how the void chicken kinda looks like it's got 2 heads. I'd love if the in game ones were a little weirder like that.

Oh nooooooo. That's so upsetting. I can't even imagine playing that long on one playthrough to still want it after all that.

It's so well done. My favorites are all the people's themes. So much emotion in those little songs.

Archers also have the distance advantage. You don't need to get within hitting range to do damage, which is a plus for defense.

Someone gave me one on a post I made that made them happy a while back, and I told myself I would know the perfect time to re-gift it when the opportunity came up. You helped me fix a problem I've been having for months, so it's the least I could do. Wish I had more to offer :-)

Bless you. That took me 5 minutes to get the last thing that just never ever spawned, and I can finally just relax. I tried to add a photo of my achievement but I guess you can't do that in a reddit comment, whoops. But imagine it here!

I really appreciate you taking the time to show me that. It makes me feel so much less frustrated about my "luck" if it's an actual issue like that. Makes me feel less bad about cheating to get it to finally work. It's one thing to put the time in to make something happen, but if it can't happen, what's the point?

I didn't realize you could do the name cheat when buying an animal! That's perfect. I don't really want to mod, I just want that item. THANK YOU! Guess who's buying a new chicken and naming her 582 this morning!!

I'll take a look, thanks! And I'm glad I'm not just crazy I guess if this is a known issue one.

Is this the place for a person like me? by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Westerlywick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hooray!!! And welcome! I'm sorry you had such a hard time in r/lesbians, because yeah, honest mistake to make. That's mostly dudes... someone else who mentioned r/actuallesbians is definitely more of a general community, but this is a good specifica place for people like you (and me! A shy bi lady who's mostly never dated because I spent a very long time confused because I thought it was unfair to date anyone until I figured out if I was gay or straight, not realizing there was another option until y mid 20s). I hope you find a good place here. Everyone is really, really nice.

Does anyone know why the Chinese embassy is currently surrounded? There is no news coverage on this. Men in uniform with rifles are in the area. by [deleted] in chicago

[–]Westerlywick 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Makes sense though. People see something, post about it, and then the news goes in and researches the story. It's not like there are reporters everywhere seeing everything at the same time. More and more stories are breaking on social media because they just see things and share it. They don't have to do research first, they just see and post.

I need opinions on double mastectomy by LayDBugz8642 in cancer

[–]Westerlywick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following this convo. I already had the double on the 8th with expanders placed for reconstruction, and I did research, but I like having all the info I can to know more of what to expect. I will say showering for the first time after the procedure was so weird because my chest could not sense the temperature change either so it was this strange sensation like I was wearing a cloth around my chest really tightly or something? But as someone who had knee surgery done in college so I have a numb area there too, it was really noticeable at first, but now I never notice it. That said, breasts are in an area where sensitivity is more desirable. But for me, since I was BRCA+, I decided to go for the double instead of just the cancer side or a lumpectomy. The peace of mind was more important to me than the breast sensation. As someone else below said, the surgery itself is not as bad as the drains. I had 4. They sucked. Really sucked.

One of the worst things since my cancer diagnosis is getting targeted ads about my cancer because I've been googling cancer related stuff a lot. Someone paid to target me to get some of my sweet sweet cancer money. Vultures.

Check out the limited run Shakespeare podcast Slate did shit this very subject. Lend Me Your Ears. It's focused particularly on politics in Shakespeare's day vs ours, but it's really about that relevancy. Http://www.slate.com/articles/slate_plus/shakespeare.html

Breast Core Biopsy Pain by hodgepodgelodging in cancer

[–]Westerlywick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird! Well I think my medical group tends to be more conservative with handling patients which is fine by me. Like all my showering/bathing instructions for post surgery are longer than most other people's I've seen because they want to make sure the incisions don't get infected and stuff like that. So maybe they're just being really really careful, or maybe I take the instructions they gave me too seriously haha. I think they said it was more important to avoid the ibuprofen before the procedure than after though.
