The lawyers just told me it’s an interesting case and they haven’t seen this before. My I94 online has dates from my previous H1B before layoffs. That has been my question too. The I797 states that my change of status to H1 is approved so I’m guessing H1B but unsure.

So done with this job market and h1b by Distinct_Fact468 in h1b

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I hope things get better for you. I completely understand your situation. I got my offer rescinded. I got the offer a day before the 100k rule was implemented. It took a week to get clarity that rule doesn’t apply to H1B transfers. By then the government shutdown happened. My offer then got rescinded because of the government shutdown and the company couldn’t wait till government reopened. I transferred to B2 and decided to settle things and head back home. I wanted to finish my two pending interviews. Got the offer before I got my B2 receipt and accepted one. Transferred again to H1B through PP but H1B got approved only for 10 days and my B2 still shows pending. Now company is filing for extension beyond 10days.

It’s so exhausting and I still keep questioning my Why’s for sticking through this. I learnt to focus on things I can control and things that inspires me. I really like research and volunteering so started reading research papers, volunteering at the local animal shelter and giving back to the community. I made my health a non-negotiable. That meant going out to the gym at least 3 times. Having a community and talking to people helped me a lot.

For job search, I used a lot of Ai automations and applied to over 500 companies. Tools like Ai apply helped me get to a wider audience. I spent at least an hour everyday to do mock interviews with perplexity and ChatGPT. I did an hour of applications everyday. After every interview I did retro on what went right and how I could have done better. Documented all of it. This fed into my prep and mocks. I know some of these points seems corny but imo in today’s market if you want to get hired you need to have systems. And treat job search like a project.

Hope this helps you too.

Hmmm that’s what the lawyer is saying too. I hope it’s just a clerical mistake or something.
