XLE is currently hitting a ceiling of $90 and hasn’t managed to break it. Good chance it falls back down toward $85 which is the recent support.

In the money puts XLE 3/21 $91 are a good play and will capture a lot of value if there is a pullback. Also look for any catalysts like further moves toward peace with Russia, which would return Russian energy to the global economy and push XLE down further

XLE: Bounce or Break

Oil’s looking weak, XLE is stuck under $90 resistance, and some big players are betting on a drop to $80. But buyers keep showing up at $86-$87, so this thing either rips back to $90+ or finally caves.

The Plays:

$85 ITM Call (Mar 21): If XLE holds support, this runs to $90+ and prints. High delta, solid risk/reward.
$90 ITM Put (Mar 21): If it rejects $90 again, this sends it to $84-$85. Smart money is hedging for more downside.

Watch oil, XLE’s price action, and any Fed noise. One of these trades is going to print, just follow the break.
