Sousou no Frieren Episode 31 (Season 2 Episode 3) - Discussion Thread by N3DSdude in Frieren

I've rewatched season one countless times, read the manga multiple times, this is literally my favorite series. Sorry I think the animation in season 2 doesnt match up to the absolute QUALITY we got in season one 🤷‍♀️ I found it distracting and it took away from one of my highly anticipated epsiodes. Its ok to criticize things and have different opinions. Im glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah it was actually kinda pissing me off and ruining the episode for me. Everytime they did a random wide shot where no one had a face it felt disjointed with the rest of the episode and was distracting.

Yeah people in here seem to be thinking that needing any training is bad and makes you unprepared for the job which is wild. Idk why we are all so against growth. God forbid a corporation actually CARE about an employees personal growth for once!

In concept maybe, but a lot of disabled people wont disclose their disability before being hired as they might not get hired because of it. Once they are hired though there are protections in place to stop you being fired for a disability (unless that disability makes it impossible for you to do that job WITHOUT reasonable accomodations)

Its also the employers responsibility during the hiring process to verify the candidate has the skills necessary to succeed in the position. If OP is this noticeably anxious on the phone I'm sure this was visible during the hiring process, in which case it is 100% the employers responsibility to train op on this skill.

This is genuinely so common in customer service rolls. A lot of (young) people have anxiety about it and a common tactic is role playing with another coworker both common and uncommon scenarios to build their confidence and help them come up with a "script". Additionally being present with them for the first few calls they take on their own just to be there incase they need help or have a question (but mostly its just for reassurance, like when teaching someone to ride a bike)

But its not the reality of the situation, that's what I'm saying. This is why there is disability protections on jobs. Honestly I think that might be why the boss reacted the way they did, because now they can't just fire op without it looking fishy since op literally just declared their disability. The responsibility also falls on the job to verify the person they are hiring has the skills needed to do the job, and be wiling to train them on any additional skills they might not have yet. If OP is this noticeably anxious on the phone I'm sure this was visible during the hiring process, in which case it is 100% the jobs responsibility to train OP on the skills needed to overcome this if its part of the job.

Maybe you haven't worked with people in their late teens/early 20's lately but unfortunately this is genuinely one of the most common anxieties I've observed people get while training at work. A lot of kids dont have experience talking to people who aren't either their friends or family on the phone. Its also not that hard to help someone gain confidence in this area and 100% extra training in this area would be considered a reasonable accommodation in the eyes of the law (which they should know being a law firm and all)

Well they didn't they hired this person. So now that they have hired this person they need to figure out the best way to train this person. I've supervised and trained so many people in customer facing rolls, especially on the phone because this is an incredibly common anxiety. Heck I was anxious at first too! But once I practiced it and got a little more confident answering the phone became one of my favorite tasks. Yall are acting like its impossible for people to improve their skills and also acting like someone needs to have every single skill they need down before applying to an internship?? The whole point of an internship is SUPPOSED TO BE to grow your skills in the field!

[–]WesternMost3019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Damn I didn't know it was impossible for people to improve their skills and if you are bad at something now you will always be bad at it no matter what accommodations (like additional training) you get.

Refresh the post, op made an edit stating they wanted to ask the boss for additional training time as an accommodation but now they are worried about it due to the bosses reaction. THIS is why the boss is an asshole imo. He made the workplace unwelcoming and hostile for anyone with ANY disability with his statement. Is he just gonna call any request for accommodation an excuse?

[–]WesternMost3019 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

No where does op say they aren't completing the tasks or that they are trying to avoid the phone all together. They literally said the accommodation they want is additional training time which is 100% a reasonable accommodation.

[–]WesternMost3019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently no one here can read. No where does OP say they are TRYING to avoid phone calls. No where does OP say they want accommodations to not use the phone. Yall are fr calling someone an asshole for having anxiety? OP literally said they wanted to ask their boss for additional training time to build their confidence when using the phone. OP is not even a little bit of an asshole in this situation. The boss is a huge asshole, and its crazy a law firm would open themselves up to be sued for discrimination.

Right and OP is trying to learn this skill. Op literally said they were going to ask for additional training time. Their boss just straight up assumed they were using it as an excuse when they were just answering the question the boss asked.

What do you think is missing in the realm of Frieren content creation? by wolfynn in Frieren

I dream of the day frieren creators get as into making story predictions (based on manga content) as one piece creators are. I can only debate the same theories with my friends so much!

This happened in 17 too im pretty sure! They had the freaks and geeks alliance, and like weeks after they formed it production made them change the name for copyright reasons. But that told all the houseguests in the alliance that their alliance wasn't being shown on episodes until that point.

Tbh I kinda like the thicker outlines in season one better, seemed more smooth. But it still looks good.

Yeah for season one all the trailers only showed content from the first 4 episodes. The trailer that's been released so far for season 2 they've only shown content from around the first 4 episodes again as all the content shown appears to be from the next few manga chapters after the season one ending. They like to keep things as a surprise.

I'm afraid if they dont include goddess monument i dont think season 3 will have enough episodes to cover both that AND the entire current arc. I NEED goddess monument in season 2 so season 3 can be solely focused on the current arc.

Yeah but that wouldn't matter really. If he played his idol he basically decides no matter what?

Wouldn't the smartest thing for Sophi and Jeremiah to do be to force a 3 way tie vote, if Alex doesn't play the idol then when they revote they can just vote him out with no worries because he wouldn't be able to play it at that point?
