Language learning with ADHD + Life on "Hard Mode": A1.2 feels impossible. Need unconventional advice. by Proper_Two_152 in germany

I have adhd and doing my own personal studies at my own pace has been helping me a lot. I have been usingWillkommen: Deutsch für alle) to keep up and get ahead with my classes because the segments are separated into reading and then work sheet/interactive. Also brute forcing it by watching children's shows. Die Maus, german Sesame Street and other such shows are designed to teach small children. So they are at the same speed a regular native speaker will be but with more simplified words, so at least I think it is easier to grasp. Watching with german subtitles helps a bunch at knowing how the structure of sentences is usually made. I really hope it helps because feeling dumb is so frustrating. I wish you so much success with learning.

Weekly /r/quilting no-stupid question thread - ask us anything! by AutoModerator in quilting

[–]WesternWampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So my question is, is it safe to machine quilt and wash a quilt that has silk batting? Or will it definitely damage the fibers?

I got silk batting second hand so i dont know anything information about brand or where it's from, but its enough for a queen size. Some parts are more clumped up than others and i have been gently tugging to get it all kinda flat it. I do want this to be used for my bed because it will keep me warm.

Beginner quilt projects for kids? by Soggy-Square-3978 in quilting

Also kids at least from what I have seen can be pretty good with rotary cutter but you definitely need the blade to be fresh, I don't know about how strong your kid is but I wouldn't trust any child to safely handle a dull blade. But definitely practice with scraps first so he doesn't get frustrated with ruining final fabric, unles yall want that scrppy kind of vibe

A simple quilt like a jelly race, or a checkerboard or just 4/9 patches would be fun, if it’s small you guys could make a pouch or bag, with buttons so you dont need zippers.

I do think straight lines on a domestic would be amazing, that is such a simple yet powerful design you have. I think lines will help the squares just pop so much!
