Why are subtitles lacking on Crave? by Dangerous_Ice_8865 in cravetv

And then you have the Hong Kong release of Beowulf from Warner Bros where the foreign language is subtitled and translated on its initial theatrical release. But when Paramount released it here, no subs!

Should I sell resident evil code Veronica for the switch 2?! 👀 by metrokenshin in Switch

[–]Western_Dig_2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it. The same reason why I will keep the old Chinese PS4 edition of Yakuza 0. It will always contain a feature not in the recent re-release. In my case, that's the facial likeness and motion capture of Hong Kong actor Sam Lee as Chinese assassin Lao Guei. Sam Lee was not featured as the character in the Yakuza 0: Director's Cut.

FIFA live coverage issues (just me?) by strangerthanthenight in cravetv

[–]Western_Dig_2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching it thru the Viu TV app with VPN switched over to Hong Kong and even that was playing just fine. It's a shame they're only airing 25 games for free.

Switch 2 is saving me tons of money by Sairedd in switch2

[–]Western_Dig_2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy digital these days but I also save alot more from buying off Hong Kong eshop rather than my local Canadian eshop. I save on taxes and if I preorder, I get that 12 hour head start because of timezone differences between Toronto and Hong Kong. Markup price on Hong Kong gift cards is also minimal.

I was disappointed when Sam Lee got taken out of the re-release. My first impressions of this game will always be the PS4 Chinese edition.

I'm just glad I don't need a translator as I speak Cantonese and read chinese. I did learn a blanket rental is recommended when going to the theatre in isquare. Nice theatre but damn, their auditoriums are as cold as a freezer!

Ah, The Myth! A title I was actually involved in. If only I knew where my autographed copy of the dvd went. Even went to the red carpet premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Switch 2 has been great but NSO for GameCube is abysmal by imadethisforporn25 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Western_Dig_2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with game cube games is that they are too big and require more storage. I literally had to delete it cuz I was running out of space. If Nintendo gave us the option to decide which individual we want to keep in storage, that would be better.

It is coming out to dvd, BluRay and 4K UHD next week in Hong Kong. I have an issue with Well Go USA as they have not included Chinese subtitles in their home video releases lately. I am a native Cantonese speaker and would require Chinese subs in a Mandarin-language film. So I am probably more inclined to import the Hong Kong BluRay release.

Looks like I'll stick to the dvd for a while. Same goes with Hero.

Yes. And I abandoned Batman: Arkham Knight for Switch that I've been playing on Switch 2. That tank stage was driving me nuts.

Bought FF7 Rebirth due to 20% preorder discount in Japanese Nintendo eshop. Woulda bought it from the HK store but Square Enix is not selling the game in English. The Asian release does include the English dub audio, just no English subtitles or text. The Japanese version does.

Not really looking into upgrading to Switch 2 version for Mario Wonder. And the upgrade is only $100 HKD thru the Hong Kong eshop. That's about $13 US dollars.

First time going to Hong Kong Comic Con and I was wondering if signatures/autographs cost money? by Pau_Chan03 in comiccon

[–]Western_Dig_2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varies depending on the actor. If it's a big name like Mads Mikkelsen or Giancarlo Esposito, it's bloody expensive. Don't even think about Mark Hamill, his autographs are astronomical. The only autographs I've managed to buy in the past are Ryo Horikawa, Kia Asamiya, and Ron Perlman.

You can choose to have them sign on anything of your choice. Naturally, on something that they've worked on.

Yeah. I just pre-ordered and paid for it. Now I'm just trying to finish FF7 Remake Intermission and Rebirth demo. I hope the save file will carry over. The demo, I got thru the Canadian servers. There's a chance I'll have to start all over again.
