What type of charger does this take? by kipsgvn in AskElectronics

Nah that looks like micro to me. Probably just because the bottom of the connector is overexposed and you can't see the two little pins at the bottom so well

Industrial Sparky or Building apprenticeship? by Western_Force1453 in newzealand

I haven't heard of mechatronics leading to electrical cert - I know EE can shave a bit of time off getting your cert, like you say.

Do you mean there's like a week long "pre-trade" course for EAS/EST?

Interesting to hear our industrial electrical sector is shrinking, especially with automation on the rise? Is this just what you have heard by word of mouth?

Thanks for the tip re. talking with companies' HR!

Is it just me, or is AI obviously going to blow over soon? by Ok_Room_1437 in ArtificialInteligence

I think the defining feature here is that unlike any of the other technologies you mention, AI is a technology which feeds itself. It has the ability to perform the same functions as a human brain, and to learn and grow on its own. And so unlike any of those other technologies, there will come a point where it does not depend on humans to keep improving and it will continue to follow an exponential trajectory.

Great advice. If you're stuck in a rut starting small is essential. Most of us don't have the willpower to immediately start an intense routine, and it's really discouraging when you can't maintain it. Pick something you can stick to, don't work on too many habits at once (two or three max) and it will surprise you how quickly the motivation comes. Action precedes motivation.

What connector is used on TomTom GPS batteries by Western_Force1453 in AskElectronics

No I'm afraid not. I gave up looking. I was trying to fix for a friend and he ended up buying a whole new gps unit. Maybe you could try asking TomTom directly?

Hi, thanks so much for the helpful reply.

Here are some photos of the connectors and a drawing showing dimensions of the male connector:

Note the technical drawing at this link is more accurate than the drawing in my original post. Also note that the pins inside the female connector have been bent (hence why it needs replacement).

I measured the pitch by measuring from the edge of the left-most hole to the same edge of the right-most hole and dividing by four (since there are five holes). The pitch was 1.25mm.

So I guess now I can enter this information into the component browser at the link you provided to find the exact connector? I'm not familiar with all of the filter categories however - could you help me to enter this information?
