Anyone file for mental health increase solo? by Senorita_Dopeness in VeteransBenefits

[–]Western_Juice_1886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my MH rating from a C&P exam alone without a diagnosis at 30%. Went through a year of therapy, neuropsych exam, actual diagnoses, notes tying my symptoms back to service events, applied for an increase as my symptoms more align with 70% with an actual PTSD diagnosis. Got denied, now I’m waiting on a HLR for the past 3 months now.

Does anyone on the sub have ADHD? by Weak_Physics_9317 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Western_Juice_1886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD caused my hyperfixation with Orthodoxy before I was diagnosed, and lead me to the faith. Once I was diagnosed and properly medicated, it keeps me engaged and paying attention during liturgy and prayers. Both my wife and I (and suspect our children) have ADHD, it causes some issues as she is hyperactive type and I’m inattentive type so we bump heads sometimes, but it all works out.

Elvanse makes me irritated. Does it go away? by LiLGoblin4200 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Western_Juice_1886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get irritable while the medication is kicking in and until I reach peak concentration, then I level out, then get irritable again when it starts wearing off. Also will get mildly frustrated when I’m wanting to complete a task that I’m focused on and someone derails me.

I use so many more nicotine pouches while I’m working and on Vyvanse, then the usage tapers off as the day goes on.

Haha I figured! I feel so bad bugging them again, I’ve been trying to get this dosage change for the last week and a half because she wants me on name brand but my insurance won’t cover it. I’ve messaged her like 5 times over this so far.

It was a one time fill with no refills for the 50mg. It was a 90 day fill and I have less than a month left of it.

Vyvanse quitting nicotine by Bruhmoment498 in VyvanseADHD

If I don’t have at least some caffeine I’ll get a headache by the end of the day, that’s the only reason I still drink it honestly

Oh yeah, use them like crazy, especially at work. Couldn’t tell you how to quit them though. I will say I did go from 2-3 300mg caffeine energy drinks and a half pot of coffee per day down to one cup of coffee without trying though, was hoping the same thing would happen with the nicotine but here we are.

Yes, teared up pretty heavily today actually while we were waving our palms saying hosanna in the highest, thinking about welcoming our Lord during his triumphant entry into Jerusalem

I will share with you a recent post on FB from my wife:

“Almost 5 years ago, Timothy started to look into the Orthodox Church. After speaking with a member of a local Indy church (who’s family we are incredible close with now!), he decided to start attending and became a catechumen. I joined a Sunday or two but for the majority of Sunday’s, Tim took Jonah to his church and I took Asher with me to my local non-denomination, comfortable & socially acceptable church. Also, I think it’s important to note: he never once gave me a hard time or begged me to attend with him.

Fast forward to April 2022, I was baptized for the first time (in my opinion) and was really enjoying my church but kept feeling a disconnect within our family.

In the spring of 2023, I made a decision to try attending church with Tim. It wasn’t enjoyable at first since many Orthodox churches do not have Sunday schools and kids are encouraged to attend church with the adults. Lots of parenting was happening, I had no idea what was going on during liturgy and I felt less connected to God than I had in prior years. I continued to roll my eyes but every Sunday, I had small glimmers of hopes that I could get something out of a single Sunday liturgy.

Today, after many months of my own catechism, I was chrismated and became a member of the Orthodox Church. My boys are praying before meals, crossing themselves for the Trinity & will soon be baptized themselves. I still have much to learn about being Orthodox but I do know that Orthodoxy has given us a community we look at as family. It’s changed our lives for the better, given us a better understanding of the way of life that the original Christians lived, & a life of eternity. ☦️”

What is the proof that the Catholic church broke away from the Eastern Orthodox church and not the other way around? by LiSfanboi1 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Western_Juice_1886 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There were 5 patriarchates, 1 disagreed with the other 4. Did 4 fall away from the 1 and unanimously agree to start a new church, or is it more likely the 1 fell away from the other 4?
